Oh my god i literally can’t tell you how much I love this place. Growing up Pakistani, i actually never really liked indian/pakistani food that much, and i always say that if i wasn’t born into the culture I probably wouldn’t be eating our food BUT THAT LITERALLY CHANGED AFTER COMING TO THIS RESTAURANT. Calling the food amazing is an understatement and injustice to the flavor and love that is poured into each dish. Speaking of love, the owners are some of the sweetest people ever and never fail to make me and other customers feel important and taken care of.
As for the food i don’t even know where to begin. Everything is cooked to perfection, both vegetarian and meat dishes, and they offer a customizable spice scale that allows you to control how spicy you want your food. Everything in the kitchen is made right then and there, including their naans which you can’t come here without getting. If you want to leave this Earth and go to heaven for a second, try their garlic cheese naan. They serve pakoras (a friend vegetable type situation) as a free appetizer and they are perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. Every time I come here, I make sure to get the chilli chicken, chicken malai kebab, and some sort of paneer dish. All dishes made me fall in love with south asian cuisine all over again. Also, all their food has minimal oil which is rare in our cuisine and a huge plus. Again, their spices, flavor authenticity, and freshness are top tier and I don’t think I’ll find another restaurant around here that’ll top them. Prices are super reasonable too and most dishes come with rice. Portions size can be small sometimes but the food is super filling and worth it. I never want to leave philly because of this restaurant. Everyone I’ve taken here loves it and I know whoever reads this will...

We decided to try this restaurant in Philadelphia after seeing its great Google reviews, and it didn’t disappoint!
When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet, with just one other couple dining. The ambiance was simple, though the seating arrangement felt a bit tight, and the table was smaller than a standard four-person dining table. However, the experience more than made up for it.
Our waitress, Harwinder, a nursing student, greeted us with a warm smile and exceptional hospitality. She took the time to explain the menu and even served us complimentary onion bhajji, which was a delightful start to our meal.
I opted for the Lamb Karahi and Garlic Naan—my first time trying Lamb Karahi, and it was absolutely phenomenal! The spices were perfectly balanced, and the lamb was incredibly tender and flavorful. My son chose Paneer Makhani and Bullet Naan. While the Paneer Makhani wasn’t as creamy as we’re used to, it was still delicious. The Bullet Naan, however, turned out to be much spicier than expected—truly living up to its name! My son couldn’t handle the heat, so we switched dishes and ordered a Rosemary Naan to cool things down. The Rosemary Naan was a standout—fragrant and perfectly baked.
To finish, we treated ourselves to Malai Kulfi, which was the perfect sweet ending to an already amazing meal. We also appreciated how affordable everything was—the pricing felt very reasonable for the quality of food and service.
Overall, this place is a hidden gem with incredible food, excellent service, and great value. I highly recommend it and will...
Read moreI'm obsessed with a place called Nirvana in Lafeyette Hill, PA, but am still trying to find someplace just as good in the Philly area. This place is 2nd best so far, but still fell short. I called to ask about the spice levels and the man on the phone was very polite about explaining the different levels, so I decided to trust him and got medium spicy chicken korma for my friend and extra spicy butter chicken for me. My friend likes some heat but can't handle too much, but my extra spicy was the perfect level for him. Medium spicy was totally mild. As for me, if that's how hot extra spicy is, I think I'd need extra extra or even extra extra extra spicy to be on the level of spice as Nirvana's "indian spicy." When going to an Indian restaurant, I expect the max level to be very spicy. That's why places usually have a whole range of levels, so everyone can be satisfied. As for the flavor, the dishes were good flavorwise, the naan was good, the rice felt a little moist for my taste but was fine. Overall we enjoyed our meals, but one thing I wasn't expecting was (TMI) the trip to the bathroom this meal caused for me. I've never experienced quite as bad a time with any other Indian food, so that was an unpleasant surprise for me. It was bad enough that I'm honestly contemplating if I ever want to try them again. For what it's worth though, so far this was the best pick out of the Philly places we've been to. Good flavor dishes, just not spicy enough and also may cause...
