I'll start with the positives.
The vibes are great inside, they've got a lot of fun and nice looking Christmas decorations up. The place is spacious, looks clean.
The staff were kind and attentive
We tried one of the signature cocktails. It was a bit pricey but it was very, very good
Now for the negatives.
The food. The food was so, so bad. Before you even consider how pricey it is for a corner bar. I respect them for trying to make homemade fried chicken tenders but they were awful. They weren't fully breaded, the color was weird, they didn't taste seasoned. We also got the cheesesteak and tbh they just need to take it off the menu. It was awful. The beef was in large, cubed chunks that were stringy and tough, with some parts fattier than others. Honestly idk how they're not embarrassed to put out a cheesesteak like that in the city of Philadelphia. This is the type of cheesesteak I'd expect to get in the middle of nowhere in Missouri.
Overall, I'd maybe come back for drinks if they've got a good drink special going on during a sixers game. And hey, maybe we got the two worst menu items. But I will never buy food from here again and I can't recommend that you spend money on food here, either. How do you make chicken...

I’ve been coming here since the new management took over several years ago, and have always been impressed with their rotating cocktail and food menus. There’s always something new at Mifflin Tavern.
Having said that, two menu items have been constant since first opening - the brisket cheesesteak and blackened chicken quesadilla. I highly recommend ordering both of these if it is your first visit to Mifflin Tavern.
In terms of the cocktail menu, this changes more frequently, and as someone who frequents often, I know that the summertime drinks will be added soon. I’m personally a fan a of the fresh squeezed Orange crush that is crafted here, but the grapefruit crush is very refreshing as well.
If you’re not one for a cocktail, Mifflin Tavern has rotating drafts that also change with the seasons - I believe 10 taps behind the bar. I guarantee there will always be something on tap even for the most casual beer drinker.
5/5 always recommend whether for a quick lunch on the weekend, a nice dinner during the week, the first stop of your day or the very last. This is a fantastic place to hang out with friends and also to bring...
Read moreMy son and I have Celiac, my son called and spoke to the owner and he assured my son they only have 1 item that has gluten “for the kids” he said. We weee so excited to go and actually have a meal without worry. Server gave us misinformation as to what had gluten and what didn’t , she was wrong. The owner found out that we could have possibly injected gluten he immediately comped a cauliflower platter for us . It was already to late. Drinks were great my daughter had fun picking different options. The owener even has a You Tube video talking about gluten free food , very misleading. A little on the pricey side. But Celiacs beware tons of cross contamination going on!!!!!! Will never go again, sad because we like the tavern , but hate being sick...
