Best Fish and chips I've probably ever had. Fish IS fresh! It was so soft and succulent; perfect, crispy batter. Skin-on, hand-cut chips were also delicious. They provided genuine, British Heinz malt vinegar too! It was better than the last fish and chips I had in England in 2010. I actually wanted to get photos of the chips but I was so balled over by how authentic and delectable the fish was, I just tucked in! I paid $25 with a modest tip. A little pricey by my standards but worth every penny. I sat at the bar and had great service, even got to chat with a couple of real Irishmen. They took Google pay which is always more convenient. With the number of pubs in the area it must be some feit to edge ahead of the competition, but Black Taxi is ahead by far. Don't miss this if you're visiting Philly.

Different Cheesesteak #1226. Special guest eater all the way from Houston, Philip. We got the cheesesteak with fried onions. It came with French Fries. They have a nice beer selection. I was shocked by how many young people were there. A young man told me it would be shoulder to shoulder in a few hours. The cheesesteak was good. The meat/cheese/onions deserve a better roll. Or scoop this roll. There was a lot of cheese so maybe a touch more meat for balance.

Lively place, cosy and spacious if you need. Was recommended by Julia and Jaimi from the Boozy Mutt and glad I checked it out. Outdoor seating as well as lots of tables indoors. Sports on screen (if I remember rightly, it was a few weeks ago now I visited). I'm Northern Irish so had to try a Guinness. It was very good I have to say. Also got a Philly cheese steak. The portion was MASSIVE. I only ate half but It was rather tasty. 😋

After a long day of walking around Philadelphia, my family and I decided we needed libations and something filling. We looked on google for places around the neighborhood and decided Black Taxi was our ticket. This ended up being an amazing decision.

From the other customers, the kitchen staff, to the front of house, everyone was terrific. This is the Irish Cheers. They helped me and my husband get our sleeping kids in to sleep in a booth and then stored our giant stroller so we could finally relax. The cocktails were so refreshing. We had the Taxi Crush, Barrys Irish Tea, and the Hendricks Lemonade. My favorite was the Taxi Crush. It reminded me of an orange crush and was so refreshing.

For food we had the Taxi Burger, Fish and chips, and the Flaky Fish Sandwich. The burger was cooked to order and a perfect medium. The batter on the fish was so flavorful and everything that beer battered fish should be. The coleslaw is nice and vinegary.

I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good lunch or dinner or in need a of a great cocktail to beat the heat. I wish we could bring the bar and the atmosphere...

Very enjoyable. Stopped after visiting the art museum and boathouse row for dinner. Was a lively crowd there watching the preakness and the Phillies game. We got seated right away. We ordered the loaded fries appetizer and I got the Ruben sandwich and my wife got the bangers and mash. The loaded fries were very good, the fries were a very different style a curled wedge fry but were great for holding the toppings. My Ruben was excellent ( and also came with straight fries) the corned beef was tender and piled nicely the sauerkraut was mild and we'll drained so the sandwich stayed crispy. The bangers and mash were good though the onion gravy was awesomely onion. The server and service was so very good. She did not rush us (as I wanted to watch the rest of the Phil's game) but was over to ask us for refills. The beer selection looked great and was well priced. I would recommend going after a day at...
