Let’s get down to the details of this place so you can really understand what you’re working with. My family and I came a hour before closing tonight to try out their food. We were originally looking at bbq spots to order catering from for an upcoming event and wanted to try it out before placing our catered order. We were a little hesitant after seeing some recent and older review but we thought to give it a try. A lot of people in the community talk about this place. My husband is a huge fan of bbq and although I really enjoy it, oh am I PICKY.
I want to start off by saying that this place could use a bit of work but it absolutely still exceeded my expectations. The small things we do have to “complain about” won’t keep us away. This bbq spot is run by two extremely kind brothers and it seems like they are doing it ALL by themselves. I arrived with my husband and 3 kids under 3 years old and we were the only family dining for the next as another customer was just leaving. The customer service was 10/10 and it took about 20 minutes to have get our food. I’m sorry if you’re expecting delicious BBQ in under 10-15 min but to us we would have waited 30 or more.
My family and I ordered : Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls 8.5/10 (could have used a tad bit more seasoning and a heavier cheese or more of a flavorful cheese sauce. Still however quite delicious)
2 prime brisket Sandwich’s 9/10 ( I personally thought these were outstanding. The meat wasn’t dry, there was just enough fat but not to much, the flavor was there and additional ingredients out on the sandwich paired together quite well. My only complaint was the kind of pepper they used when smoked it’s quite powerful)
Chicken fingers 5/10 (besides the fact that they’re chicken fingers the only reason for the low rating is how salty it was)
2 orders of Fries 7/10 (Slightly overcooked and were an additional charge. I would recommend having fries added to the orders)
Brussels Sprouts 9.5/10 ( I wish I could rate these a 10, the flavor was amazing however it was DRENCHED in oil. Like a ridiculous amount of oil was sitting at the bottom of my plate.)
Minor other complaints —————————————— We only saw two high chairs in the restaurant so if other families come that could be a bit of an issue for them There wasn’t a clear drink menu posted that I saw No kids menu
These things are small and I believe are learning curves in new businesses. My family and I look forward to support this local business and seeing how they grow. We will be placing our catering order with...
Read moreOk so i came here today for the first time as i always get gas next door and i decided to give them a try. First red flag that always indicates a disastrous experience with an establishment is not being greeted within the first 5 mins i walk in especially being spotted. Especially as a black person, i need the warmest welcome but i gave the benefit of the doubt. I began to place my order for what i came there for which was RIBS and there were none. IDC what the reason is, grabs blow horn you are a " BARBECUE ESTABLISHMENT !!!!!!!!! you should never be short on this demand at ANY MOMENT. One of the clear signs that your restaurant is failing is poor inventory management. This is a crucial aspect of running a successful restaurant, as it directly affects your bottom line. YOU'RE advertising and promoting things you don't really have But i digress, So i proceeded to order chicken tenders and mac and cheese since i'm already there, WHY NOT?! . The food is very bland, no flavor , no seasoning. I wasnt given an option of a sauce one was chosen for me but the barbecue sauce had an odd taste the mac and cheese very bland. The chicken tenders were horrid, wayyyy too big and the worse thing of it all is the grease is really old and has to be changed immediately i couldn't really bare them. The interactions were rather friendly but please Conduct a thorough review of your recipes, ingredients, and cooking processes to identify any areas for improvement. Hell even try hiring a professional chef to help elevate your menu and to help improve the flavor of your food. The success of your restaurant depends on it drastically. I always try and support local smaller businesses but it's complex because the standard is usually so low. All and all wishing you guys much improvement...
Read moreI was going to give this review a 1 star, but, after getting the food I could in good conscious not do that.
To the owners... let up on your employees a little please. I ordered a Brisket Sandwich and wanted to replace the Cole slaw with onions. At first the employee refused saying the was not allowed and would get into trouble. He then told me I could get onions on the side but I would be charged extra. Ummmm, that's the most absured thing I ever heard. I almost walked out before ordering. I did manage to get my sandwich with onions without paying extra, but the experience was weird having to virtually beg for a few small slivers of onion.
Second... I am from Texas, and Cole slaw is not on a traditional brisket sandwich. It's meat, pickles, onions, and sauce. The meat was dry and tough, and not very much of it for the whopping $11.44 I paid. Price is WAY too high. That was a $6 brisket sandwich at best.
The crispy sprouts were very good. The wings were also good.
Come on down to Texas and I will hook you up with some delicious moist fall apart in your mouth barbecue and it will cost you...
