I’m new in town and this is one of my favorite independent bookstores ever. It’s well- stocked with books for all ages, but it has the best selection of children’s books I’ve seen so far. Parents (with kidz in tow) and teachers need to go there and check it out. The store is socially conscious with an overall theme of social justice work, which is fantastic! Andrew Laties, the proprietor is a lovely person. He’s also written a wonderful book called, “Rebel Bookseller.” It’s parts inspirational, a tribute to independent bookstores, an instruction guide to opening your own bookstore, a lovely memoir, and history book. Stumbled onto this bookstore and found a gem. What an incredible community building, gorgeous, thoughtful place! It happened to be Transgender Day of Visibility and I was thrilled to find several books about gender for children. I bought gifts for two of my friends new babies and the shop had these charming gift cards that look like little mushroom houses. And that's what I love about this place. Not only do they have an amazingly curated selection of books, but they also have a chest full of coins from around the world.
