Last month I called to make reservations for December 28th and asked if we could have a table with a view of the water. I was told that EVERY table has a view of the water. Well, that is not true. We had NO view whatsoever. I did not complain because they were extremely busy. It was a full 30 minute wait to get our cocktails and our entrees were delivered immediately after that. We never even received our appetizers. However, our waiter was great, the manager came by our table to apologize about the missing appetizer, the food was quite good and we enjoyed the vibe of the place. We decided we wanted to give them another chance. Once again, I called to make reservations and explained that we would be dining on my birthday and we really wanted a table with a view of the water. I was going to make my reservations for 6 pm but she told me that if we came at 5 pm we'd be assured a good view. Well, we arrived last night at 4:55 and after 5 minutes of two very young hostesses chatting at the hostess desk, one of them brings us around to a dark corner where there are two tables and nothing else. There is no view and you can't see anything else in the whole restaurant. I explained that we made our reservation for an earlier time than we wanted to dine so we could be assured a table with a view of the water. I was told by her that they cannot guarantee everyone a good view. Mind you, this is a very large restaurant and at 5 pm last night the place was empty. There were only TWO tables with diners in the whole place. They both had excellent views. This was crazy. The hostess went back to her station whispering to the other hostess and fumbling with her computer for at least 10 minutes while we're still standing there. At this point, the manager shows up. I explain everything to her and even she is not apologetic. I'm sure they would have begrudgingly seated us with a good view but it was ridiculous that they were not accommodating us politely. Needless to say we left and ended up dining at our favorite Costa Rican restaurant. Many years ago, I put myself through college waitressing at a fine dining restaurant. I am normally a very understanding person that realizes everyone can have an off night but this was two hostesses and a manager and NONE of them were accommodating. I do hope management figures this out and they get their act together because they are in a great location and I love seeing Easton grow into an eclectic destination. However, we will not be giving them a third chance. I hate leaving a business a one star review but that is what...

Ok so here goes it, after I heard mixed reviews about Thyme and being in the restaurant industry this is my honest opinion. Parking isn't great unless you pay for valet. If they open up a garage close to this location it would be great! We had to wait about 40 mins at the bar for our reservation which wasn't that bad because we wanted to drink 1st anyway and they were supper busy. Which is always a great sign. I had the blood orange grapefruit margarita which was pretty good if you like a tart margarita. He got the espresso martini with bourbon that wasn't what were used to for some reason but we couldn't pin point it. So the 2nd round we added the shot of bailey's they offer to the espresso martini and it actually made it more watery which we didn't think was possible. 3rd round He switch to the Ginger Me drink which he liked.

Now on to the food, we ordered the crispy chicken dumplings which were pretty good can't complain. Also the Butter board. The white butter was good but thr pink one had no flavor whatsoever for some reason. The white bread was good the scone was a little to hard for our liking but some ppl like that plus it is a scone. We also got the Burrata that was kinda of tiny but it was good nothing spectacular its burrata, but we like burrata anywhere. On to entrees. We ordered the Pasta of the week that was a castellane pasta. Garlic onion based pesto, Spinach, mussels, and sea bass it was phenomenal!

Service, was great our bartender was friendly and her timing was good. Our server was nice and she knew the special and gow to present it which is always a nice touch. Her presence could have been better she would disappear to the back and not return for a bit but it was the end of the night we may have been her 2nd to last table.

Atmosphere was nice, it has this dark ambiance that is kind of nice. Could probably use a waterfall or some greenery somewhere it looks like batman lair. The bathroom is located in the farthest corner of the restaurant and could prolly be nicer. Could use some things to make it pop maybe some wall decor or something to match the vibe like those cool melting clocks or something to play off their name.

Overall opinion is we would return for sure. Great date night spot. We paid all together $169 before tipping both the server and the bartender so add another $80 for that. But it was good would be more of an occasion spot for us. But I would recommend it to others. Thanks Thyme for your hospitality your doing something right in downtown...

I'm giving 5 stars to Thyme Rooftop Grill, but there was a problem with the reservation. We reserved a table and specified a low-top. When we arrived we were escorted to a high-top. I indicated that we wanted what we reserved, the hostess excused herself and then made the correction, so it was resolved with zero inconvenience.

Beyond that: A young gentleman met us in the lobby and escorted us on the elevator to the restaurant, I think it was impromptu and spontaneous, but he was polite, and it was a nice way to be welcomed.

The wait staff were superb. We were made to feel like respected guests. No one tried to up-sell certain dishes or drinks, we were not rushed, and the menu items were knowledgeably and adequately explained. We ordered a bottle of wine and it was served in the traditional manner. Our attentive server kept our wine and water glasses full.

The ambiance is pleasant, in fact, I really want to stress this point. Easton has been lacking fine dining. Thyme, though not a formal dining experience, is as close as you'll find in Easton, or anywhere nearby. Customers can speak in ordinary tones and be comfortable knowing they can be heard by the persons sitting across the table from them, and the music on the sound system is not interfering with conversations. However, the music is just loud enough that other tables won't be distracted by your conversation, and the nearby wait staff won't overhear.

We were provided with comfortable seating and fashionable place-settings. The lights on the tables are unobtrusive and add to the atmosphere. The tables are large enough for a party of four to eat without crowding one another, and small enough to maintain conversation.

The food was served at the appropriate temperature and within a reasonable timeframe... And it, too, was superb. I and my friend both requested the butcher's cut (pan- seared Black Angus and wagyu beef), she medium rare and mine medium. They were cooked to perfection and the cuts were juicy and tender. This entree is accompanied by mashed potatoes and asparagus, and both were tasty. I'd also add that the portion size left me fully sated but with room for dessert...

So I had the Thyme creme brulé. I could write a paragraph about just this dessert, but I'll spare you. Suffice to say it's far above average and worth the trip, in and of itself.

I highly and vehemently recommend Thyme Rooftop Grill in Easton for the milieu, the entrees, or just drinks and dessert. You'll be...

Solid 4 stars. Hip place, not romantic. The fact that you take an elevator to the top floor separates it from the majority in experience right away. Valet parking available so you don't have to worry about dealing with easton parking. Walking in the hostess area is nice and there are some really great design elements to it. When I was there, it was packed. This led to a slight disappointment in the not romantic feel at all for a date. It was loud and brighter than typical for dinner places, but laughter and smiling faces were everywhere and that was really nice. The outside was too cold and windy but the view was beautiful as expected. Food: Lobster and smoked scallop bisque. Just ok. While at first glance the garnish said it was going to be something different, but once you dove in, it was an average soup, that ended up tasting more like bacon once it was all mixed together. Get the pork belly. It's a very small portion but this practically melts in your mouth and I found I wanted to keep eating them! The Butchers cut steak, a cross bred wagyu beef steak. It was very good, if cooked a bit on the rare side, but good regardless, and a nice portion size. The special was $78. Didn't melt in my mouth, however it was an easy bite and the flavor profile was lovely. I skipped the pink peppercorn butter. The mashed potatoes were boring. An absolute disappointment on the plate unfortunately. Asparagus was cooked perfectly. The braised shortribs were 100% the star here and were near perfection with their tenderness and flavor. The plate was well put together mostly, though a pool of brown mustard didn't help the plate design wise, who is going to pay much attention to that when the food makes you smile? Drinks were well crafted and delightful. Nothing too extravagant. Service: Our waiter with black nail polish, I regretfully forgot his name, was fantastic and went above and beyond including ponting out the here try this drink he had made, which i ended up not liking, on the receipt at the end and removing it. We hadn't noticed it before handing our card off. Do recommend. Will go back to try out the patio. Get reservations or wait at the bar and drink!
