My journey here started with a simple consultation that turned into my first Friday the 13th tattoo, a spontaneous moment that set the tone for something bigger. That experience alone was enough to pull me back the very next day, and what followed was nothing short of transformative.

Getting tattooed by Dizzy was exhilarating. Her mastery of flow and control was effortless, ensuring that every moment was smooth and intentional. She doesn’t just tattoo—you feel her energy through the ink, as if she’s weaving motion into art itself.

And then came Megan—a connection that felt organic from the start. The time we spent together was fluid, vibrant, and completely in sync. My ADHD was bouncing in every direction, but Megan didn’t just embrace it—she kept up, matching the energy and making me feel seen in the best way possible.

Beyond the ink, the intellectual conversation was on fire. Every discussion felt like a deep dive into ideas, perspectives, and life itself. It wasn’t just a tattoo session—it was a space to exchange thoughts, feel understood, and leave with more than just incredible art on my skin.

I have been a loyal canvas here for years, despite living all the way down in Virginia (yes I travel upwards of 4 hours to get all my tattoos here) and I can confidently say that every artist in this shop is absolutely incredible at what they do. From the design work to the techniques used to the cleanliness standards. I have been tattooed by both Rebecca and Dizzy multiple times and each new piece is my new favorite. Rebecca has been working with me on a full patchwork leg sleeve which I could not be more excited about. These artists take pride in their work and truly respect their profession and all the small things that truly make a difference. Truly an outstanding shop. Their new piercer is also a great addition. I recently got my nose pierced and she made sure to talk me through each step and made sure I was comfortable at every stage. The after care instructions for both tattoos and piercings is clear and my healed work looks just as amazing as the day I got it. Love this shop and all the people in it! Cannot recommend them...

5th Layer is THE place to go for any tattoo. They have a handful of artists, each with their own distinct style. I can truthfully say that each artist here is extremely talented. So far I’ve had 6 pieces done here by 3 different artists and I plan to get pieces done by all of their artists at some point. The location is conveniently located right across the free bridge into NJ (literally the first left when coming over from Easton). The studio feels inviting, clean & safe with eccentric decor and gorgeous wall art. They also have a piercer and a wide array of jewelry to choose from. Staff is professional and good at communicating. In my opinion, prices are very reasonable especially for the high quality art you are getting. All of the artists here genuinely care about you and the work they’re doing on you. They also have walk-in events every month so keep an eye on their socials.
