Not a very big place, but the patio is fully shaded and rocking some solid misters, which, in Phoenix, is basically the VIP section. Couldn't hurt to add a couple fans to keep the air moving, but honestly, it was pretty tolerable considering it was already over 100° before 10am. It did start to get a bit too hot for us shortly before we left though (seriously, some fans aimed into the patio area would revolutionize it). The vibe is on point: funky décor, a fun water feature, and just enough personality to make it feel like a hidden little gem.

Ordering's easy. You can head inside if you're feeling social, or just scan the QR codes on the tables if you'd rather not interact with human beings before coffee (or a mimosa). They've even got a drive‑through. The menu's on the smaller side with your standard breakfast burritos, avocado toast, and some sweet treats, but definitely seems to be in the quality‑over‑quantity mentality camp.

For cocktails, I went with one of their summer sips, the Blackberry Pie. Buffalo Trace bourbon, blackberry, lemon, spiced honey, orange bitters. Slightly sweet, with a lush blackberry flavor, and the bourbon didn't come in swinging. I'm the bourbon lover in our house, but even my diehard vodka loyalist husband gave it the thumbs‑up, which is basically the highest praise he's willing to part with when it comes to bourbon.

He ordered the Num 1 Mint Lemon Drop (Tito's vodka, lemon, triple sec, mint, and boldly billed as "awesome"). The lemon flavor was definitely there, but the mint seemed to have missed the RSVP. Decent drink, but "awesome"? Let's not go that far.

We split the Short Rib Burrito (short ribs, egg, potatoes, cheese, avocado, and housemade green salsa). Good size for sharing, served super hot and fresh. The beef was tender, though a little on the dry side. I'll give them props for not filling it with mostly potatoes, there was a nice balance of egg and beef. Flavor-wise, though, it leaned more "meh" than memorable. It could have really used a date with the salt shaker. The green salsa had a slow-burn spice I liked, but the initial flavor was very bitter and grassy, like someone accidentally blended up the neighbor's lawn. At least it was thick enough to pour generously over the burrito, which did help.

Overall, not a bad stop. Drinks were a little hit‑or‑miss, but that Blackberry Pie was a total win. The burrito was fine, just not memorable. We're not usually in this area of town, and wouldn't make a special trip to come back, but if we are in the area, we'll definitely stop back through for...

Let me start by saying I have been here several times and typically have a good experience. Today happened to be a bad experience, I placed an order online and went to the curbside pick up area in the front of the restaurant (as I have done about a dozen times since March). When I arrived I pulled in to a spot and called to let them know I was there. The person on the phone was very rude and said I needed to come inside or wait in the drive thru behind 6 cars although my order was sitting on the counter ready. I felt very frustrated, I enjoy coming here because of the friendly staff, easy pick up and good service. I ended up going in to get my order and staff still was not friendly. When I got home I was still annoyed and decided to reach out to a manager to inquire about curbside and let them know about my experience. I called at approximately 12:20 and spoke to the general manager. I asked about curbside he said they still have it, but are trying to get away from it. I let him know I was just there and was told they don’t have that service by his employees. He then further explained that his employees weren’t properly trained on curbside orders and people weren’t paying for their curbside orders when picking them up (unsure why this was relevant to me, unsure if I was being accused as a non-paying customer, as I had already explained to him that I ordered and paid online). He said he would tell his staff and that was it. Our food today was sub-par, ciabatta was dry and stale, tomatoes were not ripe and avocado spread was brown. Bummed that one of our favorite take-out restaurants has gone down hill.

  • update, I reached out to the owner as they had asked on July 27th, and still I do not have a response. They do not care about...

This time it was good... The customer service was good, they all were very kind, food and drinks were great..... We had to really pay close attention to our order this time as our experience prior was not very good. We've been here enough to give them another chance as we feel the young lady that took our order ( the previous time) was just in a careless hurry. We're 2 people standing there I ordered my coffee and 2 burritos saying we'd both like a ( certain) burrito, one for my bf & 1 for me, I turned to him, he stepped up to finalize his coffee order & she interrupted with, " ok so you're all set with your coffee order ma'am?"... We stood there dumbfounded. He said, " we'll I'd like to order a coffee".. She then finalized his coffee order... But made us very uncomfortable as if we inconvenienced her. We paid for the food with credit card/atm card but never even looked at the amount, didn't confirm the order, nor did she. I didn't have my glasses handy so just signed away. Our order was brought to the table, only 1 burrito. 😥 She only ordered 1 for us and then says, at the table, " you only ordered 1, you'll have to pay for the second if you want it... I'll put the order in for you"... I said, " but I did order 2 burritos, there's two of us...I even described what we wanted, & thought I paid for 2".... She wouldn't order the second one until we paid. Not very happy. Her error, I feel like they should have just made the damn thing and gave it to us .. Did she forget she rushed us and didn't want to listen to my bf place his coffee order😥 Not a good employee. Not complimentary to this place at all. One bad apple can bring a place down. We almost didn't go back because of her &...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting 32 Shea and was absolutely blown away by the experience. From the moment I stepped through the patio door, I was struck by the lovely atmosphere of the cafe. The decor was stylish and inviting, with cozy seating and plenty of natural light pouring in. But it wasn't just the atmosphere that impressed me – the coffee at 32 Shea was absolutely top-notch. Whether I was sipping on a rich espresso or indulging in a creamy latte, the quality of the coffee was consistently excellent. But the real highlight of my visit to 32 Shea was the breakfast burrito. Made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and expertly prepared, it was hands-down the best New Mexico breakfast burrito I've ever had. The flavors were bold and complex, and the combination of ingredients was just perfect. I left feeling satisfied and already looking forward to my next visit. In short, if you're a coffee lover or just looking for a great breakfast spot, 32 Shea is the place to be. The atmosphere is lovely, the coffee is top-notch, and the New Mexico breakfast burrito is not to be missed. I give 32 Shea a well-deserved five stars and can't wait to visit again soon.

Update: about 4 years after the post below. Went back and it’s great again. Croissant breakfast sandwich is amazing and the coffee drinks are on point again. Glad to see this place great again! This used to be the best place when Rebecca owned it. Since then it has been a slow decline in both quality and service. Today was the last nail in the coffin. They missed inputting 2 of our group's coffee drinks (of 3 people) after confirming it when ordering. Ok, accidents happen. But we get home and our food is horrible. We ordered the breakfast sandwiches on English muffins (which is says on the menu but we mentioned it anyway). The picture attached shows the final product. I got turkey, which I guess means 0.00001 oz of turkey. Also it came on toast, not English muffin. Avocado shows but is very lacking. And the eggs are pretty much soft rubber. I miss the old 32 Shea. They officially lost my business today after 5-6 years of being a loyal customer. I hope a day comes where they hire competent people to get this place back on track.
