Boba Cutea Bubble Tea Cafe - Phoenix downtown — Restaurant in Phoenix

Got a Thai milk tea with boba. My first taste made me think they put coffee on accident but then the ending was somewhat reminiscent of Thai tea only VERY watered down. Boba was super mushy with no flavor or bite. I tasted my partner’s and his was a bit better at least boba wise but still watered down. He said mine almost tasted burnt. He used to make Thai tea flavored ice cream at the Thai place he worked at and when the tea got messed up it tasted like mine but not as watered down. I gave him the rest cause he never wastes food and he tolerated it but agreed that it was not enjoyable. The place is cute but I guess the low price equates to the low quality. I was super sketched out by the service here. For some reason when me and my group came, they gave us a really hard time with the bathrooms. They let my cousin use the employee bathroom but when me and my sister asked they claimed that the bathroom wasn't operational and that we couldn't use it. We all paid for drinks so I have zero clue why they were being so weird. And when my little brother's order was wrong they gave him a hard time about it before fixing his order. I would never come back here. :( The boba wasn't even good. Update: if you aren't allowed to let people use the employee bathroom under law, then that rule should be applied universally. I ordered 2 bubble teas and the employees at this location gave me a 3rd I didn’t order and charged me for it. They did offer to reimburse me after I caught it, but I decided to just keep it to make the process easier. My drink was OK- it was bright pink and a little too sweet (and I’m a sweets addict). The cup was cute with animal ears as part of the top of the plastic cup. The decor was cute inside with a lot of bright pink and Squishable stuffed animals. The dumplings were very good and the Boa OK. The downtown area was dead even though it was during the ASU school year. All of the other restaurants were closed nearby and not much to do.
