Important caveat- The food was really good and our amazing server Michael really saved the day.
We arrived around 650pm. I was bracing myself for a wait as it happened to be very busy Monday.
Some context- My mother is an elderly woman in a wheelchair. She has had a lot of health issues since the pandemic and last year I came to the realization that I'm not sure how much longer she'll be around so I'm trying to get her to experience as much as possible, to try new foods and go to nice restaurants. I had really hyped up Pomo as I had had many good experiences at the one located at The Biltmore.
We arrive and a fleet of patrons pushed passed my mother and her caretaker to put their name on the list. My mom and her caretaker waited for me at the entrance while I parked. They were intimidated to approach the host. I get there and go up to the host and explain that I would like to be put on the list and that my mother is in a wheelchair, she's elderly and it's cold outside for her so we asked to be seated inside. He said it'll be an hour. I said ok, that's fine. My name was added to the list. We were very hungry and although there were a few open seats at the bar, it's too high for a person in a wheelchair to reach. We waited in the vicinity and over an hour and 20 minutes passed without a text. We went back to the restaurant and I once again spoke to the host. They said that only 1 of their tables was accessible, although there were several open tables, but that we couldn't get to it because they would have to ask other patrons to move in order to seat my mother. They said we could sit outside. I said that the whole point of our long wait was because my mom would be too cold outside. I was frustrated and disappointed that they acted like it was such an inconvenience to seat her. She was hungry and hopeful to try this restaurant and I'd already promised that it would be worth it. A server by the name of Michael kept seeing us waiting and saw us asking for help. Thank goodness for this man who was willing to ask a table with 3 women who had been done with their meal for over 30 minutes if he could move an empty chair so that my mother's wheelchair could get to one of the open tables. He was a wonderful server and once we finally sat down the food was good but it was so late and after all the struggle I had lost my appetite.
To many this might not be a big deal but to me it was heartbreaking to know that this very well loved, respected, and celebrated restaurant had made so little effort to accommodate someone with a disability/mobility issues in their design and process. I will not be returning to Pomo, at least not this location. I would not recommend people with mobility issues to go here unless there is a true effort to make some thoughtful changes.
Thank you Michael for stepping up and for being inclusive. If it wasn't for this server, I would have likely given up on giving my mother this experience. Michael, you...
Read more(Muchas gracias por leer la crítica honesto para ti) Thank you for reading the Honest Reviews4u! The restaurant is very clean inside and outside. You can enjoy your meal inside the restaurant, outside or at the bar section. I really like the interior design that gives a relaxing look. Best time to eat would be at sunset set to enjoy the sun as you begin your order and then enjoy the night sky as you end your meal. The bartender employed was very friendly and knowledgeable about the parking. The restaurant free parking is located behind the restaurant on 2nd street and will have the label of 1st Street on them. Our first waiter was very polite and friendly and quick got our water drinks with the a la carts (menu's). A few minutes later we were attended by a second person who took our order. The food did took about 50 minutes to arrive. Please note I was with a party of about 15 people. In my visit I ordered a FruiTini Grapefruit (cocktail) and taste very sweet and good and bubbly. I also had a Mulo (cocktail) and came with a lemon and another type of fruit and taste very good like an alcoholic carbonated drink. But I really enjoyed drinking the Foglia it was strong with alcohol and tasted delicious it was not bitter. For food I had a Calzone and taste very good it about 9 inches across about 4 or 5 inches horizontally the pepperoni was slightly spicy but good. A side of Bruschetta sorrenti was ordered which is a slice of bread with cheese and tomatoes and taste good. Next I eat a Gramigna alla Bosca a pasta type of plate and it was very different from other pasta foods very good taste the only difference I would recommend is to add a little more sauce since it was a little dry. I also had a Pomo pizza and taste good with its thin crust. Over the food was good and the drinks especially the Foglia taste great. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 was due to the wait time (with food and additional wait time on the 2nd drink order). I did had a error in my bill but was taken care very quickly by the waitress. Customers service is great, good place to hangout at night. I highly recommend this place! 👍🏼

Read moreI went to pick up food as a GrubHub courier tonight, and my awful experience is around having to wait more than 15 minutes for the customer's food, not even at cheaper places have I had to wait more than 5 minutes. The one star is based on the unfriendly and careless attitude of one of the employees there - a younger woman with long black hair. She had asked me if I had been helped initially, and I said yes because the host had already informed me it would be a 10 minute wait. I sat at the bar and set my timer for those 10 minutes. After that, I approached the area where they have the online orders shelf and I asked a male server how much longer it would be, he asked the kitchen and said I was up next. I saw how the woman that spoke to me in the beginning was basically parading around and chatting with the cooks, the cooks had an idiotic face on them as if totally distracted watching this woman instead of working. I set my stopwatch at that point, and as I was ready to call GrubHub to cancel the order, the brunette employee approached me and asked to look at the order on my phone!, instead of verifying whatever she needed on her end. As I looked for the order details, I told her that it had been more than 15 minutes and that the wait had been too much, she then rudely turned around and walked away, with her back facing me. She came back so I showed her the info, and she aggressively said, I needed to see if it was two pizzas. She could've done all that a long time before I reached the reasonable limit of a 10 min wait time, but she was so self-absorbed in being admired for her beauty that she couldn't care less about her job. I will not be accepting orders from this restaurant nor am I interested in being a customer again. Having a pretty face is not enough to keep most...
