What follows is my account of the vitriolic abusive tirade I received from a person whom I can only assume is the proprietor.
Note: I am not a customer of this establishment. The first time I ever set foot in here was this afternoon.
Some background: I work in the building that this establishment inhabits, as a customer service representative.
Every Thursday, I walk to Del Taco on 3rd Street and Thomas for their Thursday Taco special (yes, I am a reasonably able-bodied guy and I can walk a few blocks in 110+ degree summer weather). Recently, the building has had construction going on in their South parking lot, so access has been blocked.
On my way back, I see that the doors are blocked by construction fencing. I see a gap between the fence and the building, so I check to see if there is an entrance. At the end of the gap is the entrance to Cranberry Hills. I had never been in there, but I figured I would get no trouble. I can see the glass doors which lead to the 3003 building lobby, so I try to pass unobtrusively through.
As I am walking through the establishment, a middle-aged man, whom I can only assume is the proprietor, blocks my progress between some tables. He tells me in a clearly aggressive tone that "you can't be coming in here with food from another place". I let him know that I have never been in his establishment before. He replies with "Good." I tell him that I will gladly leave his premises and I try to go to the lobby entrance doors, but he blocks me again and says "You go out that way, and don't ever come back", pointing at the street entrance I entered through. I tell him I am exiting his establishment through the lobby, but he continues to be belligerent and denies me access. I don't need any scene (though this has already become one due to his yelling), so I turn back and say "Have a good day!", to which he replies angrily "You too!".
I am really not interested in his motivation for treating me that way (though it is possible he has had many people of late using his establishment as a pass-through without making a purchase), nor do I actually care how he treated me specifically (though I cannot deny some anger at my treatment in the moment, I can attest that I was nothing but polite to him).
What I am interested in is making sure that as many people as possible learn of my treatment at the hands of this person, because if he treats {{a potential customer}} this way, I have no doubt that he has treated, and will continue to treat {{paying customers}} in the same manner.

Read moreThere’s COMFORT food, and then there’s CRANBERRY HILLS comfort food! I just stopped by CH for lunch today and had the most amazing Tuna Melt I’ve ever eaten.
As a matter of fact, I’m feeling so full belly comforted right now, that you’ll have to forgive me if I end up nodding off mid-review.
Unlike those OTHER places with those hummingbird-sized portions, when you eat here, you’ll be hard-pressed to locate your plate under that mini-mountain of tasty food.
The owners are truly warm-hearted people who’ve worked incredibly hard over many years to build this lovely business.
Sadly, it took only two years of the pandemic to nearly ruin all they had accomplished.
Although they’re struggling to bring CH back to the place it was before the pandemic, they seem upbeat and determined to do whatever it takes to move the business forward.
I love this place and I’m sure you will too! So, when you stop by, and I know you will, enjoy your meal – and be sure to take home a fresh cannoli. They’re amazing.
Ok, I’ll end things here because I’m feeling a cozy little...
Read moreI found this place by a random TikTok review on a Sunday. On Monday, I took a couple of friends to give it a shot. The owners were amazing. The food was amazing (roast beef sandwich, French dip and Vermont chicken salad sandwich). We were so impressed, we came back the next day and added a couple friends. This time we added a salad, the club and a pizza, as well as the baked potato special of the day. All delicious. By Wednesday we went back with my team from work of about 14 people. (I was not bothered by this because the menu is so vast, I didn’t have to eat the same thing, or even the same kind of food twice). To my knowledge everyone thought it was great and it’s been added to our permanent lunch rotation. The owners honestly treated us almost like family from day one. I’m so happy I found this out place. I have no problem supporting this local business and will...
