UPDATE: THE INDIVIDUAL THAT I REFER TO IN THIS REVIEW GOES BY THE NAME OF MANIC FERRET, CONFIRMED IT. THANKS.
I know that this bar is closed but my review is for a while back, like maybe 2-3 months back or a little more. I stopped going to this bar because of a rude karaoke host. He was hosting on Saturdays and he is a headbanger type who is decked out in gothic garb. I think he has a peculiar stage name from what I've heard but don't remember it. So I walked in there as usual and see Kat's smiling face and all the nice bartenders (they are ALL AWESOME) and order a drink. I walk up to this man to request a song and he gives me a rather disinterested and snotty stare. I nod and say hi to which he does not respond. Then he says with lifted eyebrows "You know, it's going to be at least an hour before you sing". I was taken aback and shocked, this was such a rude thing to say. Nonetheless I proceed with ordering my song. It wasn't even 20 minutes before this man called me up in again a very disinterested tone. I sang my song and gave him a nod and stare in appreciation, even though he was rude to me, to which he looks away and seemed to roll his eyes back. Then I end the song and he said something to the effect of: "Yeah that was --- with (song title), it only took like 4 hours to sing". Very rude and disrespectful. I never went back after that. The bartenders are ALL awesome as mentioned before and the place is spotless and clean and fun but that man really just ruined it for me. I know they are opening up again and I hope he is not there anymore. However if I go there and see him I am turning straight back around and going to another bar. Anyways just wanted to share this with you and don't take it as an insult to this great bar but as a critique. If the owner wants to keep this guy and he's bringing in the money and clientele then more power to him. I'm not the owner but I guess sometimes hiring these kinds of rude staff actually brings in money, so whatever, do what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came for my 21st birthday Wednesday night, we told the bartender it was my 21st birthday so obviously Iām not going to have a horizontal ID but he made the comment āI hope you have the right ID hunā like again thatās applicable. When I opened my wallet to present my ID that states Iām under 21 until 8/23/2023, he saw it was vertical and told me he couldnāt serve us, didnāt check my ID to verify my age or anything. My friend recently left a review pertaining the matter and received a response that āIām sure this instance was just an oversight.ā He didnāt check MY ID AT ALL. An Arizona resident who turns 21 and has a vertical ID has 30 days to use it to buy alcohol. But once those 30 days are over, the law requires businesses to reject the vertical license. Doesnāt mean reject the vertical the same day they turn 21. I understand if the bar in general wonāt accept vertical IDs regardless if youāre 21 but as my friend stated that policy is wack. Especially if itās valid for 30 days...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow, this place is within walking distance of my house, and never knew it was there. They had karaoke the nite I was there and there were great singers! There was a stage and a DJ who coordinated songs picked by the patrons to sing. My friend from New York was singing Frank Sinatra and everyone loved him! He was outstanding! The bartender Alex, was happy to accommodate a drink I knew of and I allowed a few people to straw taste it. It was a hit and so many people liked it so much they ordered it. The bartender ran out of one of the ingredients and, therefore, shut down a trendy cocktail called an orange Tic Tak. š I hope the owner purchases more orange-flavored Jamieson as I plan to be a repeat customer. Not for the karaoke but for the fun atmosphere and friendly customers. My friend from New York will definitely have a memorable nite to share when he returns home. Thank you to the staff and great bartender for making this nite adventurous. I'll be back. It's a...
