The name "Flower Child" is interesting enough. I will say, the decor was enlightening, or at least felt like a good place to be. Thr wait staff, very kind and helpful. You order at the counter, but the pay system expects or is programmed to pre pay the Tip. I say, that this is kind of pre conceited to expect a tip when the service has not been performed yet. It must be earned. Anyway, after you order, you take a table number to an open table seat. If you order a drink along with a meal, they will prepare and give your order at the table. As foe te food, I ordered a Chicken Enchilada bowl. According to what I was told, the symbols on the menu with flower is a new limited item. Of the ingredients, the chicken was cooked right with some obvious seasoning and a red sauce. The cheese melted on top of the Enchilada was melted just right and enough to get a cheese pull upon cutting a piece. This particular bowl had both, a cream and the red sauce. Took me a little of getting used to it as a acquired taste. My recommendation is eat a little asomethjng if you choose a bowl because of a less than expected serving size for a $12 meal. Oneself I got a bigger serving size froma Gyro place but then again, they had a platter with multiple protein s and sides to add for a plate meal. The plate might be a bigger portion size than a bowl. I also Rate this establishment 4 stars due to the fact they do not honor Military or Veterans with a discount, especially for the high price food than let's say a fast a world wide chain of weinerschnitezel where the food is ple ty an they jnor Veterans ans Military. Although consider the fresh ingredients this place was cooking up, seems very fresh.

Flower Child at Desert Ridge is one of my absolute favorite spots, and it’s easy to see why. From the moment I walk in—or sit outside amidst the lush greenery and charming décor—everything feels fresh, organic, and full of positive energy. The vibe is naturally uplifting: so many plants, thoughtful design details, and a welcoming, clean atmosphere that makes it a perfect “ray of sunshine” in Arizona. The service is consistently fast and friendly. Team members always greet you with a warm smile and genuine kindness. The place is immaculately kept—which really enhances that fresh, sanctuary-like feel you're craving. The menu reflects the same attention to quality and wellness: everything is made-from-scratch with fresh, often local ingredients. Whether it's the vibrant bowls, creative wraps, or crisp salads (many of which are vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free), there’s something for every palate. Their healthy, thoughtfully prepared dishes truly nourish both body and soul. This restaurant consistently blows me away. Every visit feels like a mini retreat—clear, comforting, wholesome, and rejuvenating. Highlights: Fresh and made-from-scratch menu items Super kind, efficient staff Bright, plant-filled, clean ambiance Flexible dietary options—organic, vegan, gluten-free Great for outdoor or relaxed casual dining In short: Flower Child at Desert Ridge isn’t just eating out—it’s an experience of holistic joy. It’s a natural, feel-good oasis and consistently one of the most delightful places to visit in the Valley.

While standing in line outside, I chose what to get from the menu board, and upon ordering she tells me that dish is no longer on the menu. I guess they are too lazy to cross it off the outside menu board? The food was all bland. The soup was bland. The gf Mac n cheese side was cooked well, but bland. We liked the quinoa side and the gf chocolate chip cookie. They were both flavorful. They have my favorite tea, Harvey & Sons. Good for gluten-free options. The "service" is weird. We had to get salt and pepper shakers to bring to our table. I was asked to pick up my tea bag out of their tin with my fingers and drop it in a cup for her to fill with boiling (way too hot for proper tea) water and have it brought to a table that someone chose for us. They carry your bowl of food out with their fingers in the edge of your bowl. One guy brought the soup out on a tray. They didn't clear the dirty dishes, so as we walked out we noticed lots of people sitting with their empty dirty dishes while finishing their drinks or waiting for others in their party to finish. The person who brought some of our food was just wearing normal clothes,no apron, long hair was not tied back, or anything to signify she worked there. It was very loud in there. The ceiling is high and there is nothing to mitigate the sound. There was a customer with two giant fuzzy dogs, and I'm allergic to dogs. I like the concept,it's just not managed well.
