I am absolutely appalled by the disgusting treatment my girlfriend and I received at the Its Sugar store in Desert Ridge, Phoenix. We were just trying to enjoy a simple candy sampling while shopping, and the cashier (an older guy with blue eyes) handled the situation with the worst attitude and tone imaginable.
We politely asked if we could try some gummy samples. There were people waiting in line, and due to some miscommunication, we misunderstood and we didn’t know the specific sample were only allowed in the back. Instead of clarifying like a professional, this guy snapped at us with an insanely rude and hostile tone, saying, “What part of we can only give this specific gummy to sample do you not understand?” His words were not only disrespectful but downright disgusting.
The sheer hostility and nastiness from this employee was absolutely unacceptable and makes me question how this place even stays in business with staff like that. This is the kind of behavior that deserves to get someone fired immediately. I’m warning anyone with children and who values basic human decency to be mindful of that man. Me and my girlfriend left very upset and unhappy . If I could give this place 0 stars I absolutely would without giving it a second thought. It’s sugar, we love your company but please be mindful of who you hire and how your employees...

My family and I were walking in after we had lunch, and we were still in the process of bribing my 3 year old to eat the last bite of food in her mouth and swallow it before she could pick candy. She's a stubborn little thing, and tried to swallow it whole and she choked/gagged on it and proceeded to throw up right on the floor. I was mortified, but the young man immediately brought me the garbage can and paper towels. He assured me that it was okay, and that he would take care of the rest of it after I cleaned up as much as I could. That was a prime opportunity to be frustrated and short and he was not that way at all. We felt awful as he had to shut the store down for a bit to clean it up and sanitize, etc... but I was so incredibly thankful for his kindness and grace during that tough time. We will be back in the future to support...
Read moreHuge selection of candy, unique gifts and friendly customer service. I'm in here often as I take my kids up to the Desert Ridge playground a few times a month and we always stop in for one lollipop each during our visit. The store is always clean and well organized. The prices are less than some places, like the AMC movie theater candy around the corner, but more than others. However, if you are looking for unique candy gifts or hard to find candy I would say...
