Phoenix, the capital of Arizona, is a city built in the desert. With scorching summers and intense sunlight, it's no wonder BBQ is so popular here. Checked out two famous BBQ spots, Little Miss BBQ and Bobby Q. Smokeless grilling, fresh ingredients, and amazing flavors. Highly recommend! #Phoenix #Arizona #BBQ #Foodie #Travel #LittleMissBBQ #BobbyQ #DesertCity #FoodAdventures

My wife and I ate here on vacation. Based on what we had read, this seemed to be the best available bbq in Phoenix, so our expectations were fairly high. We were very pleased with the experience and would definitely come back. The layout of the restaurant is interesting. They have an indoor and outdoor seating section. The inside is much more open than I’ve seen in most other bbq restaurants, and has a more modern aesthetic. Outside, there are a number of picnic tables under cover with string lights providing a nice touch to the ambiance. As far as I could tell, the restaurant was very clean. You place your order at the beginning of a counter and then take a number and have the order delivered to you. I ordered a two meat combo of sliced fatty brisket and pork ribs with sides of mac and cheese and ranch style beans. My wife ordered pork ribs. I would estimate that our food was served in about 5-10 minutes. I was impressed with the preparation of the brisket. It passed all of the typical tests that tell whether brisket has been cooked too long, too short, or just right. The bark was good and flavorful, and the meat was tender and moist. I think the smoky flavor of the meat was a little less pronounced than I prefer, but I tend to prefer meat with a strong smoke flavor and I understand that this is not what everyone likes. While the brisket was very good and met all of the textbook requirements, I liked the pork ribs even more. The seasoning on them was very good, the texture was again exactly what it should have been, and they really didn’t need sauce to be delicious - while ribs can be cooked by anyone and still be pretty good, I think this is one of the harder outcomes to achieve. A lot of bbq places have sides but don’t put much effort into them. That is absolutely not the case here. Both the mac and cheese and the beans were absolutely fantastic and possibly the best sides I have had at any bbq place. Both sides were incredibly rich and flavorful. The beans appeared to be flavored with meat, adding to the savoriness and texture of the dish. These were not the mediocre, runny beans that many places serve. Each table had 3 sauces on it: a tomato-based house sauce, the spicy version of that house sauce, and a mustard-based sauce. I preferred the mustard over the tomato based sauces, and I didn’t get a ton of spiciness from the spicy sauce. They were all fine but generally didn’t blow me away. Overall, Little Miss BBQ does a fantastic job. The meat is prepared extremely well and the sides we had were absolutely delicious. I wish we had been able to try more of the meats (I would have been very excited to try the beef rib, but this is a Friday/Saturday item only). If we lived here, I think I would come here regularly. I would definitely recommend them.

We were excited to try the BBQ in Phoenix that everyone recommended after moving from Austin 18 months ago and really missing our BBQ. We DID NOT come in expecting a TX BBQ experience because, well, we knew it couldn't be the same, but we did have high hopes for a regional BBQ experience.

The line was out the door, but no big deal because this is just how it is at any good BBQ joint in Central Texas. However, I have NEVER seen a BBQ line move SO SLOWLY for service -- take the crew to TX for some meat cutting training and to see how high volume BBQ is pushed out quickly with great service. Service was very nice and friendly.

Once we received our food (pork ribs, turkey, fatty brisket + sides) it was underwhelming. Brisket lacked a meaningful smoke ring, rub was not memorable just salty, and the fatty brisket wasn't particularly moist. Pork ribs were very disappointing. The only flavor was salt, meat was chewy, and overall lacked pork or smoke flavor (sad because these are my favorite BBQ cut). Turkey was over brined, caused a weird rubbery texture. The house sausage (we did not get to try the jalapeno cheddar), which we sampled in line, lacked any smoke flavor. Instead, it tasted more like an andouille sausage as opposed to smoked sausage. The grind and pack were good and the casing had a nice break to it. All three of the BBQ sauces were pretty similar (extremely sweet). Overall, the overwhelming flavor to everything was just salt.

Potato salad was good and the beans were good with lots of meat added but extremely rich. They do have Shiner on tap which was a nice touch. The facility itself was very nice and comfortable with a nice outdoor patio.

We'll come back to try the green and red burritos, but we'll be making flights back to TX when we...

My son in-law worked a couple of businesses down from the 7th st place store in phx and told me how crazy busy this place was. It took a while for me to decide to try it being I live 41 miles away. He said that they had a huge parking lot and it was always filled before the doors were open. Once open they would have a person out on university st directing traffic. Could it really be that good I thought? Well I'm here to tell you that after being all over Texas and the mid west and western states, it's the best I've found in Arizona and I've lived here 54 years. There has only been 2 places in Texas that I've thought was equal to this place. Cottonwood Arizona has a place almost as good as this but not quite. The people who own this place are awesome and great people. We had samples of the brisket early that morning and then it was all over. The wife and I had to try everything they had to offer. Everything was exceptionally perfect even the smoked pecan pie. If im in the area and this place is open, then I'm stopping. I pride myself on smoking my own brisket and meats in my fancy BBQ center that I built many years ago. After speaking with the owner of this place, he gave me great pointers on how he does things there. I still can't find the quality of meats he's serving there but getting a little closer. If you want the best this state has to offer, you must go here. I was fortunate enough to have a very generous professional gambler in line in front of me who insisted in paying for our meal so he would have lady luck on his side that night. That was very nice of him and I felt that I was the winner that day in so many ways. What a Awesome experience and...
