This is the most horrible unprofessional unethical experience my wife and I have ever had at any Banner medical facility in the past 11 years.
I scheduled and appointment for my 10yo this morning for this location (1940 W Glendale Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85021) for flu/covid like symptoms. Upon checking in with a Hispanic lady by given name of Maryann advised my wife a copay of $75 was due. My wife and I questioned the copay amount as we usually, when needed, attend the Bell rd. and 43ave location and we don’t get charged a copay as we are told insurance will bill me later if anything owed.
I spoke to this lady myself that said her name was Maryann, in order to get clarification regarding the copay amount since we have visited the Bell rd location and no copay was collected, she went ahead and said it was and has been Banners policy to do so. She said she does not know who runs things at a different location and advised here a copay of $75 was going to be charged if wanted to be seen. I asked her 3 times if a courtesy call could be made to the Bell rd location to see why copay is not collected there and why copay is being charged here. She refused to make such call in a very hostile way. I explained to her that my child is sick and while we can pay the $75, I would like to know what the difference was given both locations are Banner Urgent Cares. I explained we have private insurance and $75 did not sound accurate.
Complaint: I became upset and asked for her name and I was able to understand “Maryann” as she mumbled her response and walked away from me when I was still talking, she never came back and had no name tag, so who knows if this her actual name. An African America lady wearing a red shirt came up said nothing and literally snatched the chart from my wife’s hand. The same lady with red shirt also had no name tag and when walking away started using profanity, not addressing this very simple issue of clarifying why a copay was being charged.
I’m not sure if this is how this location runs and treats their patients this very same way on a daily basis, or perhaps these are people fresh out of school who lack simple common sense, have less than poor customer service skills and a low grade of professionalism.
Based on three visits to the Bell rd location for care of my self and little ones with in the last two weeks, this experience and these two ladies do not represent what Banner stands for, but rather represents a very unpleasant, let down and awful side of this location.
I was able to make contact with the Bell rd location right after. The very nice lady at the front desk answered all of my questions and actually de-escalated the situation. She advised that while the $75 dollar copay was accurate, but because of the type of visit or possible diagnosis related, Banner is not collecting copay at this time and that should of been the same case at other location.
I RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS...
Read moreI was at home and after dinner I was cleaning up and I was putting Curry knives from dinner away in their holders. When I was putting the safety eclipse on the knife, slipped and Cut my right index finger. Seeing that the cut was very deep. It was probably about 2 cm in length I needed to go to urgent care. I’ve always gone to the one on Shea and Tatum. But there is one on seventh and Cave Creek that is very close to the house less than 2 miles and it’s also near a major hospital John C Lincoln. So we decided to go there because I’ve waited before 4 to 6 hours in the hospital and I didn’t wanna wait that long. When I went there, it was not that busy for a weekend. The staff were very understanding, accommodating and professional. Each interaction I had they described exactly what was gonna happen the physicians assistant provided me with a couple of options and we together decided to go with the sutures. He was very good at suturing explaining them and taking care to put in extra strength nuts due to the fact of where the cut was located the skin is thin and there’s a lot of tension on it. I would recommend this facility if you live near seventh Avenue and Dunlap to go to them in case of an urgent matter, not necessarily one for the emergency room. If you need the emergency room, they can always refer you over and call ahead of time so that emergency knows that you’re...
Read moreThis is my second visit for a Covid test. I just wasn’t feeling all that great so I decided that I might need to check out my symptoms. I was treated with urgency and care. I was swabbed for the test and I had a really really great conversation with the technician that took my swab. Although it wasn’t his job to listen to me rattle on, he really listened and never acted as though he was in a big hurry to get me out of the office. The receptionist and I spoke briefly about my health concerns and she too was very kind and very patient. My wait time was not long at all, I’d say maybe five minutes and I was taken to the back, blood pressure taken then swabbed. The doctor came in maybe 10 minutes later and he listened to my concerns and advised me of what to do until results are back. He had a really great professional presence and showed genuine concern for my treatment . I honestly love the care that I get at this particular Banner Urgent Care. They never make me feel as though my issue is a problem for them. I am always treated with respect, kindness and concern. I would recommend this Banner Urgent Care to anyone who has a healthcare concern. They are amazing! Stay safe and thank you for all that you do to keep us well during this...
