I recently visited this ice cream shop hoping to support a small business after their recent and unfortunate robbery. I had mixed experiences. On the positive side, the ice cream flavors were exceptional! The Biscoff, cookies and cream, snickerdoodle, and ice cream taco were all outstanding—definitely a 10/10 for the quality and taste!
However, the staff left much to be desired. It was evident that the young employees would rather be anywhere else than working there. One staff member struggled to provide basic product knowledge, mistakenly claiming the prices were on the cups, only to realize they weren’t when shown. Customer service was lacking, with no recommendations offered, reflecting a lack of training.
The overall atmosphere of the shop needs improvement. The front area was cluttered with equipment where customers order, and the menu board was on the ground partially blocking the walk way. It felt unclean, with visible dust, contributing to a general impression of neglect. The back seating area was chaotic, filled with kids running wild and a general lack of upkeep—the stuffed animals and couches were in poor condition.
While I was happy to support an LGBT business and enjoyed the ice cream immensely, the overall experience was disappointing. With better training and a more welcoming environment, this place could truly thrive. For now, I enjoyed the ice cream but wouldn't recommend staying to enjoy the atmosphere. It had the feel of a garage sale gone wrong—lots of potential, but it just didn’t...
Read moreThis ice cream shop and it’s proud owner Rich are absolute gems. Rich is a true master of his craft and is always willing to experiment with new and unique flavors Although, he absolutely nails the classics like Vanilla and chocolate, you can also expect to find special flavors like Abuelita Naranja, orange blossom honey lavender, mango sticky rice and his latest flavor as of this review, goat cheese and fig. The absolute kicker with all of this is that all of his ice creams are virtually free of lactose, so you don’t get any of the negative side effects that can often come from eating ice cream. I have no idea how he does it other than he is either a mad scientist or some sort of magician.
While I am not sure if this is something to be proud of, my family and I probably come into this shop at least 3 times a week to try the latest flavor and enjoy a fun conversation with the owner (whenever he’s not cooking up a new batch in the back). Not only is the ice cream top notch, but your money ultimately goes towards supporting a local business that is being run with a passion that comes through in the product and the environment. If you live in the mid-town Phoenix area, do your taste buds a favor and get...
Read moreReally loved this local ice cream shop! The decor is super fun and they had a Mrs PAC-Man machine! They have a ton of really unique flavors too and the ice cream was delicious. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a super friendly employee and by the incredible smell of freshly made waffle cones! Scoops are $6 and waffle cones are $2 but it does come with a ton of ice cream in the scoop and it’s a very homemade and delicious flavor so I personally thought the price was worthwhile. I did prefer it over other shops like Melt or Churn. I thought it was much better! The employee was extremely friendly and nice and we had people come in after us that appeared to be regulars or that had been there before so they were very enthusiastically giving us advice on flavors. We thought this was a great sign! We live nearby so I will definitely come here again. I had the dank chocolate and my boyfriend had a flavor that I think was called Biscoff please or something like that. We also had a sample of the strawberry quick and that one was sooo...
