I didn’t know Old Station started life as a 1920s era gas station? Did you? What I do know is if you placed 600 12-inch ham and cheese subs end-to-end in a southeasterly direction from OS, the last one would touch the doorstep of Phoenix’ largest homeless shelter. Don’t believe me, Google it! A good friend recommended Old Station for lunch and I ‘cautiously’ jumped at the chance to dine in one of Phoenix’ sketchiest neighborhoods. I arrived early - being the chronically punctual guy I am, while my non-chronically punctual pal gifted me a 20 minute chunk of ME time before landing. So I made the best of it by chatting with the owner. The only thing friendlier than that guy was the weather that day, so when my buddy showed up, we ate out on the patio. Honestly, the subs were pretty good and no more spendy than anywhere else in town. And it’s not an evil corporate eatery. A huge +++ Lots of unusual and crazy artifacts pinned to the walls and peppered all around the place added to its unique charm. Yes, I would eat there again.

Honestly the sandwiches are decent enough and the atmosphere is charming. It's a convenient place for my coworkers and I to get a sandwich, but truly it's a hit or miss. They didn't want to switch out the ham for turkey in the sandwiches when I went and ordered in person because "That's how the sandwich comes" which was a little crazy and limited what I could eat off their menu. Not sure why you can't just switch the meats unless they aren't made fresh and come already prepared.. Their website is inaccurate as well, it will mark that a sandwich is their "Daily Special" and even discount it, but it doesn't not give you on option to pick out the chips/drink that are supposed to come with it. So when you order online and go in, you won't get your chips/drink even if you ordered the Daily Special. At least it discounts the sandwich though.

Terrible! The only reason this place stays open is because there is nothing else around. I ordered a simple pastrami and cheese. What I got was a big sloppy pile of ingredients on top of soggy bread.I struggled to try to eat it then threw it away. It was horrible! I could not eat it as a sandwich since the bread was completely soggy as separated. It was literally like grabbing a pile as ingredients with your hand and trying to eat them. I've been here before and the food was just mediocre at best but at least I could eat it. This time it was just a big sloppy pile of mess. I will not be back. I'd rather not eat then to eat here again.

I've lived in phoenix for 3 years and just found this shop here on Google Maps, I went there and to my suprise it was a very small and cute place with friendly staff with a daily special and wonderful daily soups! My girlfriend and I both ordered the Italian Sub Special for 5.75, which included a large sandwich with fresh tasty meats, and tasty cheese and lettuce/condiments. My girlfriend ordered a side of Potato Salad and I ordered macoroni salad. She also ordered Italian wedding soup that was very tasty, we took our food home and everything was tasty and fresh. There is also 40-50 things + on their menu to choose from and I definitely will be going there again, I suggest that everyone checks it out. It reminds me of a good old sandiwich shop from philadephia pennsylvania. The only thing I didnt see that Id like in the future would be banana peppers, instead they have pepperchini's. All it all, perfect place for me, way better than the rest, the staff there should definitely get a raise and...
