I wanted to love this place. But sadly I don’t. It started with relatively few vegetarian options. Which is always a bummer, but I can live with that.

We ordered food. Friday night. So fairly busy. That’s fine. Took a while to get our name called. But it’s busy, so no problem.

They finally called us and out of 4 entrees, only 1 is ready. Again, not a huge issue. Not everything has to be ready simultaneously.

But seriously 15 minutes later, no one else has food. Still. That’s kind a long wait when you put in one order with four entrees.

After about 15 minutes, we get called again. Now only 2 more plates are ready. Each a burrito. But our last meal still not ready.

Hungry, I tore into my burrito. At best it was lukewarm to tepid. Not sure why I waited 15 additional minutes to get a lukewarm/tepid burrito. But that’s what happened.

Finally, another 5 minutes later our last plate was ready. Which, was actually was the exact same as the very first order we got 20 minutes earlier.

I don’t mind a few minutes between entrees on a busy night. But 20 minutes between the first and last and then serving a lukewarm burrito in the middle? Not really excited about that.

Overall, I wouldn’t...

Food is inconsistent. I ordered quite a bit of food earlier in the day and it was great. I came back later the same day and again ordered quite a bit of food, and it was nowhere near as good. The food was very bland and the carne asada was SO DRY. The additions I requested were not included and the food was cold by the time I walked across the street, which was very disappointing. If you can catch it at the right time, it’s good, but otherwise, it’s really disappointing.

Update:

I went back as instructed and I definitely appreciate the effort to make things right, especial since I convinced my husband to drive from Maricopa to try this place after a long day of work. We tried the same items from our initial visit and my husband was well pleased with the queso barría tacos and felt that the remakes were much better. I had a few issues with our replacement order, but they were minor overall, so thankfully the major issues were addressed. My husband is pretty set on sticking to what he knows and I second that sentiment. He agrees that it is a place that we will visit when visiting family in the area and hopefully the food is consistent...

What are we rating?

Food or service? Had it be food, 4 stars. Had it been service no stars.

Using the restroom, the paper towel dispenser was empty. Awkwardly it was replaced while I waited to properly wash my hands. Meanwhile, the emploee who replaced the papertowel immediately went into serving food to the customer before me, without washing her hands. Read the reviews.

Food service is counter, meaning you order your food at the counter, when it is ready they call your number and you retrieve your food. Table side serving is not available.Tipping is always optional, read the reviews.

Table side service seems to be available for alcoholic drinks, however.

Food is delicious. I ordered a street taco combo which comes with two tacos and rice/beans. I ordered the asada and pollo. Better value might be had if you order the tacos individually. In this combo, they are about $6 each.

I also ordered a pollo asado quesadilla, it was more quaso and fillers than protein. Read the reviews.

Overall, I would not visit again. There are...

I went to this place as it has decent ratings. It's my first time here, so I asked the server for their best seller. He recommended the quesobirria, so I got one with al pastor and Carne asada tacos. The quesobirria tasted weird. It has a taste of old oil. Maybe because of the cheese. It wasn't for me. The AL pastor and the Carne asada were really good. They offered the tacos with their spicy salsa, but it wasn't spicy at all. I also got horchata for a drink, which was the best one I've had so far. Since I am not from the area and don't know anything around, I felt the location wasn't safe. I feel this place is overrated for what they serve. Their prices are also quite higher compared to other taco places around the area. This is even pricier compared to the ones in Tempe, which have really good tacos. I would go to Taco Boys before I go back to this place.
