Those who’ve read my reviews know I love Phở… and my constant search for a ‘legitimate’ Phở, Phở Noodles on 21st Street, Phoenix is ranking with me as one of my top five in the Valley. Setting aside it’s non-descript, no frills and simple décor, yet comfortable and accommodating. But at the heart of it all is the Phở. It’s very, very good. My favorite style, Phở Tai Nam, is superb. Tender mouthwatering meats, incredible broth, along with splendidly fresh vegetable accoutréments – Cilantro, Bean Sprouts, Jalapeño, Basil leaves, and lime wedges! As was my Wife’s Phở Tai. Very much like, if not the same as, it’s Northern Phoenix sibling, Phở Noodles has an extraordinary preparation in the precise quantity of beef bone flavor within the preparation of its broth and seems to have the right quantity of ginger and onions with the right amount of fish sauce – they’ve done a marvelous job, almost perfect. BTW, they have delish and super fresh shrimp rolls in a super thin and fresh rice paper that’s excellent. This may be our neighborhood go...
Read moreI used to frequent this restaurant as it is close by, affordable and the food always comes out super quick! However today I went and had a horrible experience.. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered the veggie pho. My husband immediately noticed a hair in his sandwich and upon further inspection noticed MANY more hairs. This made me completely lose my appetite.. I had only eaten a bite of tofu when we noticed the hairs. The owner(?) said the chicken was mixed with hairs accidentally but the veggie pho was fine. Like.. I’m obviously disturbed by the hair and don’t want to eat this! He didn’t accept that and began yelling at my husband and I, trying to force us to pay for this food we didn’t eat! I was honestly appalled that a business would behave this way! He literally chased us out of the restaurant yelling at us telling us we could never return as if we would ever want to after that. Absolutely ridiculous. edited to add: Read through the 1 star reviews. Looks like my experience...
Read moreI had an absolutely terrible experience at this Pho restaurant. I ordered the curry chicken, and my fiancée ordered pho noodles. When my dish arrived, it was nothing like what I expected—bland, completely off in flavor, and didn’t even taste like curry. The chicken was all dark meat, and the potatoes tasted old and overcooked. It was barely edible.
When I asked the server to return it and order something else, he said he would have to take a sample back to the cook first. I have never in my life heard of a restaurant doing that. What does that even look like? How is he going to take a sample? And how would I even eat it after he’s taken part of my food away? It made no sense, and on top of that, he still insisted I’d be charged no matter what.
The overall experience was awful—terrible food, horrible service, and zero accountability. We will never be back, and I wouldn’t recommend this...
