Fantastic authentic Vietnamese food. You can even see some of the French influences in the Asian cuisine from when Vietnam was a French run colonial possession. Like the French bread they make the sandwiches with just crispy on the outside soft and warm inside. I order a large #12. Which is essentially thin cut beef brisket tendon and cartledge souo with a bit of tripe. It was cooked perfectly. The broth was delicious the tendon and cartledge was both rubber soft and chewy. Touched a bit and the gelatin and glucosamine and condroiton made fingers stick together. The lemon grass lime wedges and much going beans sprouts as well as the lemon sweet basil was fantastic and very clean and fresh. My lychee and Boba tea was. Very clean and refreshing with lots of big tapioca (Boba) balls in Boston of cup. Served with giant wide straw to be able to drink them up. Me and my son had an appetizer shared a Boba tea with two very large bowls of food for $25.00 great place to take a young person to sample a different cuisine and explore another people culture through the food. On Sunday after there where several Vietnamese family's dining there as well . Always a good sign of authenticity well prepared food from that particular place. The restaurant is midsized with one long wall as a cushioned bench many table tops with chairs wheel chair access is not a problem. I've been here over 5 times in the last year and have never been anything but completely satisfied leaving with leftovers enough for another meal. Very open and bright dining room as two sides of it are completely widows top to bottom. Good for anywhere from two to ten people at once in your group. They have typical Strachan sauce a homemade chili paste. Soy hoisin sauce and even a mild fish sauce. Again everything is fresh clean. Personally I think when a restraunt can take parts of animal.most people would never eat and make them delicious it says alot. The oxtail soups is great. Basically every plate is less than $10 as well as the pho soups. Boba teas $4.50 4 without the tapioca balls. They serve ginger jasmine and greentea hot or cold as well as a high quality pennywort tea. This food truly is medicine. I feel great leaving. Go try something new or an old favorite you will not be dissapointed. Especially if you bring people who have never tried some more of what Americans consider "bizarre foods" I love this place and look forward to it wore than a Thanksgiving dinner any day. The rice noodle are heaven. As well as the meatball soup. I'll stop raving now and just say go try it for your self. They have things for the adventurous diner from old simple favorite for those in your group that don't fancy a walk on the wild side.
So it's been 2 years since I first wrote this review. I'm still a loyal customer. I still love the # 11 house special Pho. I particularly love it when Im feeling a bit under the weather. It's the best comfort food to me. Like Viet chicken noodle or something. Mentally makes me happy my stomach loves it and makes my whole body feel warm and fuzzy..Who doesnt like a good Pho ? Ya k ow what I mean ? When I'm feeling DTP go to Pho Viet and go down on a Steaming hot bowl of soup... Get your minds outta the...
Read morePho Viet has been a wonderful place for me. I’ve been to this restaurant for many years, when visiting family down the street. Now I live here and I’m glad I get to visit this place. Especially when I need to eat something healthier than the typical fast food place around the area.
The service is always good. I am welcomed when I arrive and they normally ask me if I want a table or booth. I’m more of a table person, but the booths are nice and comfortable, too. The staff is very attentive and kind, which I appreciate very much.
The menu is robust and there is many different types of pho dishes to chose from. They also have a vegetarian section, and a lunch special as well, which I think is a great deal. They also have updated their menu since the last time I came here, which is many months, to be honest. They have not disappointed, when it comes to selection.
The food was fresh and hot. I love fresh spring rolls. I wish they had a 20 pack that I could take to my work mates, but in all honesty, I would probably devour them on the way. The dip is more of the watery type, so expect that. I have been to many places where it’s thicker but I must have been in a good mood to not mind a change. The pho is great and I feel like I can’t get enough, so sell me a barrel full, haha. I usually don’t add any sauce or anything to my pho, as I usually compare the base version to other places. This place was good, but could use some more spice. Other than that, I’ll be back and maybe I’ll venture into other items on the menu aside from my usual. But I also don’t want to miss out, since I don’t eat too much Vietnamese food. A treat for a day. Also the parking lot was nice, not issues there. No crowds, other than getting back onto the street, which can be a little bit of a wait. I recommend this place so much. 10 out of 10 for me, especially on...
Read moreI used to absolutely love this place and have been coming for at least 4 years. I’ve also brought lots of different friends and families here too. In the past few months I have noticed a difference in service. Tonight I probably hit my limit. They were pretty full and got us seated right away, which is normal. We were however seated at a joined table with only one table clean. I literally had a dirty washcloth on the table next to me and it didn’t get cleaned up until other guests came to sit. My sister ordered porridge, it came out very fast. We thought the rest of our food was soon to follow. My sister was about half way done when my dad got his food. By the time my mom and I received our soup my sister and my dad had basically finished their food. Honestly, this didn’t bother me much, I understand a place being busy and having a bad night. What really threw me over edge was having to ask for chili oil three times and getting it to find that little brown beetles were in it. I had unknowingly already added some to my soup before I noticed them. I looked at several of them in my soup and in the actual chili oil before calling over a waitress over. I tried keeping the matter quite, but had to speak up when the waitress couldn’t hear me. I showed her what I found on a napkin, in my soup, and in the chili. She tried to tell me they were toasted chili seeds. I, for one, eat all sorts of chili on a daily basis and know for a fact that red pepper seeds don’t grind up, float in oil, or are oval shaped. After a few minutes of discussing my finding I was finally offered a new bowl of soup, which was all I wanted. I have enjoyed this place for so long, but after this occurrence I can strongly say I will not be returning. The service I could have over looked, but the bugs...
