There are certain requirements that I think are a bare minimum level that any establishment serving food must meet such as hand wash stations for the staff; one of those requirements is some kind of communication system between outside and the restaurant preferably a phone number. Any business can accidentally have an outbreak of e.colli from tainted greens or beef and hospitals or police should have a method to reach the store if there is suddenly an intake of patients… with this bare minimum in mind it’s plain to see why I was concerned when on 3/22/25 I received a cold steak and cold rice bowl. A lot could explain this occurrence, in the speed of opening day maybe someone forgot to turn on the equipment to maintain the proper temperature of the food, in expectation of the stampede of customers maybe they bulk premanufactured protein and didn’t heat it up enough before serving it, in the fear of things burning while everyone was outside for the ribbon ceremony maybe they turned off all the equipment. What makes this issue rise to a level of concern is absolutely no way to report the problem to the business owners other than driving down their in person and paying for parking to go in and complain. The instagram messenger bot kicks out form responses of they’ll be open soon and their website doesn’t have a contact method that works. The form stalls trying to locate a location to allow its submission. Nice concept/worst customer service ever!

I walked here and feel like this is a restaurant downtown Phoenix needs. It's a healthier option to a quick bite AND you get way more than other similar concepts like chipotle. I love that they have proteins from steak, shrimp and even the popular original crispy chicken. You can get soooo much food for ~$15. I ordered the original Hong Kong crispy chicken bowl which came with a bed of rice, the crispy chicken, (I added in some thin sliced zucchini and cauliflower), it also came with carrots, edamame, cabbage, corn and we topped it off with a signature sauce. Girl.... I thought I was going to take some home and I devoured this bowl! HAHA! I also tried the OG Lemonade and added a bit of the strawberry lemonade to it. So refreshing!! The milk tea looked popular because it was almost out when I got there. I went back to try the vanilla rice pudding and wtf, I need this every night I crave a late night snack. So good, very thick and creamy texture. Loved it! They also played some popular kpop songs here and overall i recommend checking this place out!! PS- did you know they cater?

Thank you Yelp, for inviting me to the Elite Experience & Bowl Bonanza at Ricemill! This cute little downtown eatery is serving delicious hand crafted and build-your-own Asian bowls. They use fresh ingredients and homemade sauces offering shrimp, chicken and pork for proteins. You can have it over rice , noodles, or fresh greens and they have plenty of gluten-free and vegan options as well. The staff was friendly and welcoming offering to assist if needed I chose to build my own bowl with steak and shrimp over noodles in the caramelized scallion sauce topped with sweet and sour eggplant, zucchini, anoki mushrooms, edamame, purple cabbage and sesame seeds. It was delicious and good for me too! You have to try their different flavors of rice pudding and homemade strawberry and watermelon lemonade. Thanks again Bailey for inviting me an please support our local businesses.

Was skeptical at first when I arrived. The restaurant is an Asian chipotle concept. You can choose build your own or choose a pre built selection. I got the Hong Kong crispy chicken and the Shanghai style steak.

The crispy chicken was similar to chicken karage. An had great flavor and was not dry. All the flavors married well with each other.

Shanghai steak was tender. Took it home and reheated it two days later and was still awesome and tender.

The portion size seemed small, but after finishing my crispy chicken bowl. I felt full but not food coma full. Got the steak for a later meal and was very happy. They do have a double protein portion you can get . Even though it is not shown on the menu. You can ask. I believe the person I talked to said it would be $3 more.

Sidenote - They are very attentive to gluten allergies. My wife inquired and they let her know what is gluten free and their base sauces are all gluten free. They made suggestions for my wife and she was very happy with the food and no reactions. Highly suggest letting them know before you order what allergies you have and they can let you know what is safe for you. They also never cross use any of their serving utensils and they are very mindful of not doing that.

Overall. Amazing food. Worth the price and...

Was in town for the Basketball tournament and stumbled upon a gem. I walked in to give this place a shot and was more than impressed with the food. I enjoyed the food and when we come back into town from CA we will be visiting this spot. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I asked for a sauce recommendation and I trusted the employee with it and they were right. Thank you Ricemill in my Arnold schwarzenegger voice- “I’ll be back.”

Update- Came back the very next night, so excited to take my kid. I had to drop the service down some stars cause they were out of shrimp and we said we didn’t mind waiting. The lady behind the counter said cool 15-20 min it should be out. So we waited after sitting there and waiting for some time we saw a small rush of people. I had my kid check and she looks at me and says: “The shrimp was ready and almost gone.” So that was pretty disappointing. The food was still solid though. You don’t do that to people. It wasn’t gonna be rude to say hold up guys they have been waiting for 15 min let me serve them first they actually wanted to wait for the shrimp and then I...
