This hip, tiny hotel is a real hole in the wall with basically no parking or defining exterior features to speak of. Blink and you miss it; I drove past it twice while looking for it because the sign is so small.
The room has no refrigerator and no desk (other than a small fold-out table that I'm surprised can hold weight). The shades in the room work very well to keep out light, but because the window in the bathroom only has a translucent tint and because the bathroom door (which only slides and does not have a locking mechanism) also only has a translucent tint, then your room will be bright during the day - whether you want it to be or not. If you get a room with a view of the city, you'll be treated to the backs of some skyscrapers and the top of a parking garage.
The bar selection is fine, but the kitchen closes early and those hours aren't posted anywhere, so don't expect to eat there unless you only want the free pretzels and M&Ms that are available at the check-in desk. There's also no pool, which is always a surprising decision for a hotel in Phoenix. There's free coffee in the mornings, but the food costs money and is just things like muffins and bagels.
What this hotel lacks in amenities, it makes up for in style. Adjectives like "quaint," "chic," and "quirky" immediately come to mind. The lobby is always full of colorful characters from every walk of life, and there are vendors selling things early...
Read moreWhat a great find!! We attended the Def Leppard, Journey, Steve Miller concert at Chase Field and stayed at the Moxy. We arrived just before 4pm and the valet parking was intense-especially with the construction. Although Even though the lobby was packed, we were nicely greeted and helped. There were jars of M&M and pretzels for guests. The lobby, hallways, and lounge areas are incredibly decorated! We had so much fun spending time looking at all the unique decorations! The hallway on our floor was painted dark blue and gave quite the speakeasy feel. Our room was small but so well designed and organized! The bed was comfortable, the TV channels simple to use, and the bathroom shower was amazing! They're was a metal locker in the hallway with extra supplies. We were able to grab an extra pillow, face cloths, and lotion without bothering facilities. The was a clip near the bed too hold your cell phone for wireless charging! We were about a 5 minute walk to Chase Field so no can was needed! Valet parking overnight was cheaper than the parking garages and lots. There are many nightclubs, comedy place, many different styles of restaurants, and a Fry's within walking distance. We will definitely be back for concerts...
Read moreGreat stay at the Moxy with a smallish business group. The hotel and our contact, Nikki, were outstanding.||The hotel is close to everything and has a neat vibe. Yes - the rooms are smaller but for our business group they worked like a charm. We found them to be incredibly clean and efficient. There is a nice loft/library area above the lobby to spread out and get some work done between group meeting. I had it all to myself when I used it and it made up for the limited room desk space.||The hotel’s bar was engaging enough that most of us did not need to venture out after dinner which was nice. Great bar staff and lots of good options for drinks, food and eat. The hotel also did a nice job matching us up with meeting space nearby at the Arrogant Butcher.||My 6th floor end of hall room was nice. Room 627 was an end room on the backside. I’d suggest to get as high as you can. One morning there was some early trash collection noise but the other quite quiet. The higher even side are street side with nice views but some street car noise.||All in all, a great experience and I would go back! Again, ideal for a...
