I am appalled by the behavior of many, not all, of the staff and security. On 10/2 we went to see BMTH. We got GA PIT tickets and travelled from outside of Phoenix to get there early enough to get wrist bands. We stood around waiting from 3:00 to 4:45 (the email advised us to arrive between 3:00 to 4:30) when they allowed us to enter the building. I was thankful that the wait area was shaded but thatās where the consideration from this venue ended.
They ushered us into the building and straight down to the pit. They wouldnāt allow us to leave the area to get food and drinks, use the bathrooms, or get merch until after they had opened the main doors. As I was going back out to the concession area I heard one of the security guards say something along the lines of āThis was a smart idea to make room in the pit.ā As if we didnāt just wait around outside in 110 degree weather to be able to get in early specifically to have time to do everything we wanted to do before the show started.
The show itself was amazing! Great bands and honestly this was a very well behaved and considerate pit crowd compared to other shows Iāve been to. At the end of the show one of the security guards walked up to the rail and started yelling at everyone to clear the area, understandably, but he seemed to be getting very upset that we werenāt moving fast enough and just kept yelling at everyone to move when we couldnāt advance forward due to the crowd leaving the pit and the seats.
Once we got back out to the entrance we went to find the merch. For some odd reason they elected to put all the merch outside. I havenāt seen them do this for previous shows at this venue and there were no signs telling us which exit to use to access the merch area. The security was directing us out one specific door so we go outside and realize that the merch was barricaded off and could only be accessed from the other door. We turned around to ask them if we could go through the other door to get to the merch and this woman very rudely says āthere is no re-entryā like she hadnāt just guided us out that door. We tried asking her how we could get to merch and she just gave us the nastiest look and shut the door in our faces.
I fully understand that staff and security are responsible for keeping everyone safe, including themselves. I am very thankful to have them looking out for us at these concerts. Iām sure their jobs are mentally and physically taxing and they just want to go home at the end of a shift and I respect that. To be blatantly rude is not necessary. This isnāt the first time Iāve dealt with staff at this venue who are abrasive but this was definitely the worst and doesnāt make me want to continue attending concerts at a venue where basic consideration and humanity arenāt part of the job...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been to Footprint Center twice, and the only reason I am giving it 1 star is because if you are going ONLY for the concerts, then it's a great experience. However, the staff and the prices are outrageous. There was a really old lady with white hair managing the ticket line, and she was extremely rude to my entire party of 6 and misgendered my friend and still continued to be extremely rude. I hope she honestly gets fired, and I wish I got her name because I work in the Customer Service industry and I know that it can get overwhelming at times but how she treated us was unacceptable and honestly left an insanely bad taste in our mouths. They are also only getting 1 star because of their insane prices. I paid $22.00 for a water, like come on... It's not even that expensive at other venues. For WATER??? Also, whoever answers the phone/emails...They obviously don't communicate with the staff because I emailed them a month prior to ask for clarification regarding the bag I was bringing and they replied back stating it was acceptable. I measured it to make sure it fit the dimensions. It was a clear bag, and they told me it was too big and they weren't going to allow it. They didn't even try to measure it or anything. They also wanted my friend to throw her fan away, she didn't say why and it didn't make any sense because other people had fans and were allowed in even though WE ALSO asked if we could bring it in prior to arriving at the concert. Mind you, this was all told to us by the same rude lady I mentioned earlier. We talked to someone else besides her, and they kindly told us that she could leave her fan at guest services, which was nice, but it would have been nice if that same rude lady told us that we could of put our bag in guests services too instead of completely throwing it away. Thanks...
