Definitely try it out. But bring cash or you pay 3.5%. We were looking for a place to grab a bite and a drink in the Scottsdale area that wasn’t expensive hip, and found this one. It was set back from Scottsdale road so we didn’t even know it was there until a google search. As a bonus, they have a dog friendly patio, which we needed. We decided to just stick to appetizers, but there were some other things on the menu that we may return and try out, such as the green chile. We decided on the Birria Quesadilla and the wings. We asked for buffalo wings but I think we got the dry rub wings because there was little sauce. They were sizable and we enjoyed them, but I would have liked to have had buffalo. The Birria quesadilla was really good. It came with a tiny side of guacamole, sour cream, and salsa, plus a cup of adobo. I think we were supposed to dip, but we poured instead since we were sharing. It was messy, but very tasty. We would order extra guacamole and sour cream next time. The staff was attentive, but the credit surcharge was tiring. Just add the cost to the food, owner. Few people carry cash anymore.

Came in with a group of 8 for lunch this past weekend . Place is pretty small so it gets “busy” quick it seems . I would say the service was okay. A bit slow, nothing above and beyond. The server (blonde girl ) wasn’t very helpful . We asked for a drink menu and she said to look on their menu online which only has wines and champagnes ,when I finally got her attention again and told her that she told me to just look over at the bar and that they have “everything”. I am sitting down at a table there is no reason for me to have to get up to go look at the bar to see what beer options they have. As a server you think she would know what beers they have on tap but apparently not... Mostly everybody enjoyed the food. The Boursin burger was a little bit burnt . I love some good wings, but they were also burnt. Also , I wouldn’t order the pretzel bites again it’s more like thin slices of bread, not actual bites. But the French dip was pretty good, along with the fries .

Every beer i ordered poured full glass of foam. Rouge, Salty Crew Blonde, Crispy Blonde Lager, and Michelob Ultra. Waitress explained it To the first of the day. But we all beer drinkers know its possibly dirty lines. No beer needs to foam on the way out. If your a local you will get served the very best. I was not. Finished my first beer. Then looked at my watch wondering how long will it take for an empty glass to be filled. About 1 min. This is from an empty glass to being asked if i want another. There was only 3 people at the bar plus myself. But chatting with regulars maybe was part of the slower service. Great place inside. Beer lines need cleaning i would say for Draught. Comment is they do clean the lines. Then you tell me why glasses are pouring half full of foam for the beers mentioned. Check them. Make them better is all.

My roomie saw this place and we decided to check it out. We were able to get a table when we arrived and ordered two appetizers, chicken wings 2 ways and the Poutine (short ribs over French fries for two) with Boursin cheese melted on top. I had the Boursin burger with fries and my guest had the cheesesteak and fries. Our server was stellar, pleasant, capable and kind, she was just great. Our food was served quickly considering how busy the restaurant was. So, the wings are supposed to be baked and then grilled presumably for some crisp. They weren't grilled at all and were soft to bite into. The dry rub and sauced ones tasted good but had no crisp to it at all. I would've guess they were boiled and sauced and sent out...They didn't have any skin on them either. The Poutine was short on the short rib in our order, but what was there was tasty. My burger was very well done (not what I wanted) and the bun wasn't toasted, at all, it was soggy. Bacon was barely cooked, lacked crisp as well. The burger tasted ok but the bun fell apart. My friends cheesesteak was smallish but tasty. His bun was toasted. We each had a beer. We'll probably give it another try to see if they can cook the burger correctly and hopefully the food will have some crisp to it ... The restaurant was very dark inside (I had to turn on the flashlight on my phone to read the menu) and it was quite loud as well. I wanted to love this place and left just liking it. The server was the best part of...

My wife and my brother's wife go to get their rings cleaned at Shane Co. once every six months and we make a point to try a local eatery anytime we are on this side of town. On June 10th, The Rooster Tavern was the place we decided to try. It was around 1:00PM, it was our group (6 of us) and about 6 or 7 other patrons in the establishment. The atmosphere and drinks were fine and then our food came out. My wife ordered the Mac & Cheese add bacon and green chilies. When our waiter brought it to the table and put it down we both stared at it confused as it had the consistency of soup (this is not an over exaggeration it was literally soup). Formerly in the food service industry I would have been embarrassed to bring it to one of my tables. My wife thought maybe that it was just their version of mac & cheese and continued to swirl her spoon around in the dish. To our surprise there were NO noodles in this MAC & cheese dish. We informed the waiter there were no noodles and showed him the consistency. He laughed slightly and said that doesn't seem right and took it away. He did return to the table minutes later and gave an insincere "sorry about that". The rest of our food was just typical bar food. Now as I do think this was probably an anomaly of the norm here I still don't understand how the dish got past the "chef" or the wait staff in that condition. There are many other choices in this area and we will choose not to...

I waited overnight to write this review. I wanted to make sure it was warranted and a response to bad service (not a reaction). My workmate and I used to enjoy coming here for a drink and a snack after work. No more. The day female bartender now working the shift is our "why." We have been disrespected by the female bartender 1 time too many. It happened the only other time she was working and we went. We thought we'd give it a try with her a 2nd time as anyone can have had a bad day. We asked for a menu, received the menu but were never asked if we wanted to order. Sat with our drinks empty while the men in the establishment were overtly flirted with and received exceptional service. We asked for our bill to be resubmitted to us seperated (tax purposes). It was snatched up and resubmitted to us with attitude and a snide remark. Because I am from the midwest, where we live and die by our manners, I am described by people as "very kind." Thus, it wasn't me or anything I'd said or done. Because I helped offset my University cost as a single mother working in a bar, I have experienced that it can be very hard work. As such, I am an over-tipper. So, it couldn't be a nonexistent reputation as a bad tipper. If you are female without a man, or a group of ladies, and walk in and the day female bartender is working......
