Horrible experience. If you have a disability, or dare to have a full cart, dont go to this store. I have never been treated so badly and felt so discriminated against. My girlfriend and I had gathered a cart full of items we wanted but needed to try on first. I took my girlfriend 6 items in her dressing room to switch out the items for her. I was immediately told I needed to get out, that theres only one person allowed at a time. Which I understood completely and asked for my own fitting room. A few minutes later, both my girlfriend and I walked outside of our fitting rooms to show each other items we had tried on. The female manager was by our cart that we had right outside our fitting rooms. She first asked me if it was my cart. I said yes. She ignored me, then turned to my girlfriend, asked her the same thing, and my girlfriend responded yes as well. She then began to ask us if we needed everything in the cart. We both tried explaining that yes, we had a genuine interest in every single item we had handpicked, but we were abiding by the "six at a time" rule. She then told us that we shouldn't have that many items in the cart. I tried to explain that we just wanted to try our items on to ensure that they fit before we buy them. This was when she informed me that I was talking too loud. Unfortunately I am disabled and struggle with complete hearing loss in one ear. Because of this I usually talk louder than most because I can't hear myself. I tried explaining this to the female manager and she simply told me that she didn't have any problems hearing. She then continued on to tell us that we needed to leave the store. Simply because we had too many items in our cart and because the manager felt infringed upon because of the volume of my voice, due to my disability. In my many years as a loyal Goodwill customer I have never felt so...
Read moreJust left this goodwill. I found a tiny tank top that I wanted to buy, but it had a hole in it. Now, I know these are donated items and are not in perfect condition...but the tank top was priced at $10 while some of the same styles are $5. So I simply wanted to ask the manager if there was something that could be done about this- perhaps a price adjustment for a tank top that was damaged. (My wait until line took very long because said manager was changing the price on something for another customer). When I got to the register, after my very long wait, I explained my logic to the cashier (tall, older, lady, short, salt-and-peppered hair) she scolded me and told me that this is what I should expect because theyâre donated items and that Iâm already getting the item for half off because of the daily special. She tossed the item back at my end of the counter after I said I still wanted it, but after she tossed it at me like that I didnât want it anymore. Why was the lady in front of me treated better after asking for the same thing- a price reduction? Her item was brand new with tags...and she got good service and a price reduction...but my item had a hole in it and deodorant stains and I got it thrown back at me and yelled at...After tonight, I seriously doubt I will ever come back. I will make the trip to the one on Raintree instead. Their employees are much nicer to me and their selection is much better, more organized, and...
Read moreThe staff was removing the $1 sale tag items in order to "make room" on the racks. We asked about the policy of keeping the previous weeks tags on the rack since the registers know to price them at a dollar and the clerk said oh they always keep the previous weeks tags for a week, then remove them from the racks...well that's not what the staff we talked to on the floor who were told. They mentioned they were directed to remove all of the previous weeks tags since they were no longer on sale. When I corrected the point of them being on sale this week, they both said they were just following management direction. We are regular shoppers at all of the valley Goodwill's, and this practice is not common, but it is at a few stores only. It's sad to see store management not following corporate direction. I do not recommend shopping this specific store. There are plenty of of other Scottsdale and Mesa stores that do not follow this practice and you can get still find the previous weeks tags on sale for a dollar. I would strongly recommend shopping a...
