First time I've visited and I usually hold off on reviewing until my second trip, but I can see verification of my impression all around me. The staff are friendly and inviting. We walked in at about 10am on a Thursday and were seated right away. Had our drinks ( coffee and water) brought in carafes and filled our cups. The nice waitress asked if I wanted cream, and when I agreed she brought a chilled serving cup (the little metal teapot looking thing that sometimes has syrup) of cream. Coffee tasted great and that little cream cup is highly underrated in my opinion. It should definitely be a thing more places offer.. As first timers I asked what the best item on the menu was and she directed me to the Half and half. It's what they call protein pancakes and a hash/scramble with customizable options an egg and hash browns underneath.
Let me tell you what. Those pancakes are amazing. They have granola and berries and..... I've had pancakes from almost every state in the union and several foreign countries. These are hands down the best I've had. Not even close.
Which leads me to the scramble/hash. It was delicious too, but completely overshadowed by the pancakes. I got the meat lovers and it comes with chicken fried steak, ham, sausage and bacon with a bit of gravy poured over the top. Like I said, it was delicious, but not a stand out food next to those pancakes.
I can totally give this place 5 stars for just the pancakes, but the other items can't add stars to that. I haven't tried anything else, but I have a feeling this is the first of many trips I will take...
Read moreFirst time at this restaurant. It is located in a 'strip mall' so parking was easy and plentiful. Google maps had you do a U-turn coming for Hwy. 17 but turning at 29th with the light would have been easier as the restaurant has a very large logo so easy to locate from the street. We were welcomed by a friendly host with a big smile (March 31) and led to our booth (it has both booth and table seating). We were immediately greeted by our server, given menus, and asked about our drink order (all coffees). The menu was very extensive for a brunch restaurant. Our server (Liz) was super nice and efficient and apparently was a trainee and being 'shadowed' by her trainer, Ashley, who was also quite personable. I enjoyed my interactions with them. The restaurant has a large seating area and even though it was busy, the noise level was no problem for our conversation. A BIG plus was leaving a coffee carafe on the table so there was no need to keep asking for refills. My spinach Florentine was very good with a cheese sauce on top. Standard for all the dishes were English muffins but I suppose you could ask for other choices. My son's chorizo was also excellent and both were certainly plentiful. The only loss of a star was the price which seem to be a standard $16 for just about every single breakfast item on the menu, therefore costing an eye popping $63 for 3 meals with coffee. I would certainly recommend the place with the caveat of the price being a little overboard, in my opinion, although the quantity, quality and service were...
Read moreBeen coming to this location for years, so it was a no brainer to come for Fathers Day. Took 20 min just for our server to come over, and she looked miserable. Had to repeat our drink order back 3x then still had to come back 5 min later and ask again. Should have been a sign i guess. I watched my food be put down at another table, the person push it around with their fork and say this isnt correct. The server then realizes shes at the wrong table and tries to serve it to me......... My wife asked it to be remade since it was served to another person (standard practice i guess). Weve now been waiting just over 45min for our food, its fathers day and im the only one not eating. The new skillet comes out with nearly raw eggs on top........ I tell my server and she is confused as to why the over medium eggs that came out raw isnt pleasing me. By this time, i am frustrated and over this whole experience and just ask for the check. They take my food off, after my wife refused to pay for salmonella. The manager offered me a couple pieces of fruit to replace my meat lovers skillet........😒. The slips come back and they ran my card for the wrong amount, thank god my wife dealt with the manager arguing that it was just $3 difference........ So not only did i pay food we didnt eat i was OVERCHARGED for it. Happy Fathers day to me. Never coming back and I suggest no one else does either, unless you want a...
