Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen — Restaurant in Pinellas Park

** UPDATED REVIEW JUNE 2023 3 STARS TO 2 STARS NOW TO 4 STARS. I dined here twice this past week #1 was on 6/6/23 Finally a super wonderful server, her name was Ashley. Service was not slow, food was wonderful !!! We ordered the Cheddar's Trio Sampler to start, our entrees were Grilled Chicken Pecan Salad and Key West Chicken and Shrimp. It was a very nice meal, nice portion sizes #2 was on 6/10/23 We skipped an appetizer Carrot Cake. We both ordered the half rack of ribs & chicken tender. Cheddar's has the best chicken tenders and I liked their Ribs better than Outback. the only think lacking on this visit was the server, kind of felt like she was sleep walking (lol) but she was nice, service was was not slow. I will say food is consistently great but the service is a hit and miss. Definitely looking at ordering a family bundle take out. 3-11-2023 taking my 3 stars to 2 stars new review for over all reviews, but this visit is a minus 3 stars !!this place is a hit n' miss. consistently SLOW service and unpleasant servers. again not very many people inside dining. food temp. was warmish then got cold pretty fast since they have the a/c vents blowing right on you. Chicken tenders were rubbery which I did not expect since the food is usually good just the rest of it bad. NO follow up from the server. As much as we wanted to get desert they didn't ask or offer?? Probably best we just left. Do "they" not care about the tip??

The first time I ate here was about 6 months after they opened this location, and food was bad but the service was pretty good, as well as the manager and never went back until today 07/07/22 had a late lunch / early dinner to beat any long wait & Place was pretty empty. The food was great, nice portions ((but)) terrible unfriendly awful service !!!! No follow up once we received our food, only one stop to refill one person's drink? next time she appeared was to have us pay out, didn't asked if we wanted desert which should be part of their training. so 4 stars for food and no stars for service = my 3 star rating. My date and I had the most fabulous time at the Cheddars in Pinellas Park on Saturday evening of February the 17th by goodness the service took the night! Tori our server gave us one of the best and most memorable & best Hospitality experiences in the Tampa Bay by far & made sure we were definitely excited to come back for more.

The food was awesome overall! We had ordered their very satisfying appetizers the Cheddar’s cheese fries & the cheese curds and if your a dairy lover like most of us are! Cheddars certainly lives up to their namesake! Not only for dairy but for value as well it was shareable and so dang good! Don’t cheat yourself! Their house made ranch is enough to make you have a happy dance while in your seat! Literally GOATED one of the best in the area!

Now onto the entrees. I had ordered the 8oz Steak and Tenders combo as I know off the cuff I needed some of those Tendies in my life and dang they were so good. Now I had a little issue with the steak once it got to the table I had ordered my steak rare/medium rare for my peak carnivorous satisfaction but I had noted the steak had been over cooked and I had let Tori know this wasn’t what I ordered and she knew it to be true.

And this is where Tori truly shined and showed that she genuinely cared about her guests experience and showed the high caliber of her hospitality prowess. She sprung into action and delivered the steak to the manager of the establishment and made sure that I had gotten the steak to my liking in a very timely manner! Even the manager came out to speak and apologize and even delivered it HIMSELF! To see the satisfaction fill my eyes to a succulent juicy steak as it was intended to be!! You could taste the delicious smokey flame grilled steak was brimming with flavor to savor! I was so satisfied with the service I received and the funny energetic service from Tori

So if you want a fun! Happy! Experience for a nice date night with your significant other and of course for those delicious honey butter croissants. First let me say that we dined at this restaurant in 2020 while visiting Florida and we were looking forward to dining here again February 2023. I’ve never been so disappointed in dining out ! The restaurant was freezing cold, we were seated under what I believe to be malfunctioning air vents, our order was taken within a reasonable 10 min , it was all downhill from there, 20 min and no beer, I say beer only because it’s not a drink that requires mixing, it arrived after a reminder, warm and in dirty glasses, then the white wine came… but it was red! And another 2 dirty wine glasses. After almost an hour our meals came , cold potatoes and broccoli and rare not med well steak. The waiter took it to the kitchen and returned 20 min later with another med rare steak. We never did get the Cesar salads we ordered. We were a party of ten, 9 people sat and waited for me to eat my meal. Then another 30 min , maybe longer waiting for the bill, which needed to be corrected 3 times! All I can say is , we won’t be back, we will have something to talk about for years to come! And to quote the manager, “ you have a nice evening”! Ohh, and I neglected to mention, there was a large party seated smack dab in the center of the restaurant with small children, acting like small children do restless, crying at times which is totally understandable, children are children, you can’t expect them to act like adults but the adults were over the top! They could not have been louder, yelling to each other and the children. I’m sure this put management in an awkward position… what were they to say!?? But I hope that in the future management has the foresight to seat large boisterous parties in a more secluded area where they can enjoy their evening out and not interfere with others to the point where they can not carry on a conversation.
