Finding an Indian Restaurants in Pinellas County is both difficult as well as expensive. After coming across "India King Tandooria & Wine" online and seeing their reviews I was optimistic. So I went there to place my order only to find the prices to be more expensive at the restaurant rather than online. The employees were very nice and helpful and even offered me a "1st time diner discount" which more than made up for the higher in house prices, so I was grateful. So, the service was both excellent and accommodating. Although my order for (4) was being placed for take out, I did look around, finding their dining area to be stylishly designed, more modern than traditional. As nice as their service and the look of the restaurant, unfortunately it was their food which we found most disappointing. We started out with appetizers, papadam and Samosas. The papadam was coated with so much grease they were actually shiny. We wiped off a bit to at least try them and they were flavorful but sadly not edible. The Samosa appetizers was actually very good and something I'd order again. Also, our Naan bread was paper thin and devoid of both consistency and flavor. One of the main dishes ordered was Chicken Tikka Masala. It was on the "creamier" side and actually tasted like it was made with spoiled milk which left a terrible after taste. Leaving the best for last, our order of Aloo Gobi which was really quite nice and had such a wonderful depth of flavor as expected from good Indian food, the only downside were the vegetables, they were over cooked and mushy. Thank so much for the great service taking my order, I only wish the food was just as fantastic. So, I'm still looking for my goto,...
Read moreFor the first time in my life out of 1,000's of restaurants coast to coast, I paid $11.97 for fresh brewed iced tea. Yes, They changed me for my 2 refills. I get it when it's bottled tea, but not fresh brewed unsweet tea. This was a first, and last.
I canceled the gathering I planned to have here next week. This first visit was test run to be sure the place would work as a new place for me and my friends to meet and eat. It will not work since this establishment is on my "no go" list for me and my guests and any foodie events.
Now, for the unbiased food review...
Chili Chicken came as my appetizer. The Chili Chicken was excellent with bold flavor, tender chicken, and good sauce. The spice level of "spicy" was perfect.
The Lamb Korma I had for dinner was good, but I feel I should have gone with chicken. The sauce was thick and flavorful with a nutty undertone. Unfortunately the lamb was a bit overcooked as it had the texture and flavor of roast beef.
The garlic naan was on par with what I expect for naan.
The curry shrimp my guest had was a miss. The shrimp overcooked as they were very chewy. And for some reason the curry sauce was very greasy. Not sure why this one dish was such a miss when the other dishes, while not perfect, were decent overall.
Unfortunately, I won't be returning to try the Tandoori or Tikki Masala. Not will I get to sample other dishes. The extreme overcharge of the brewed iced tea is just not acceptable.
Eeyore left disappointed and not feeling very cheery as expectations were pointing toward a...
Read moreLast weekend Friday night, my friend and I dined at a small exquisite Indian restaurant that has quickly become our favorite spot. We drove an hour to get there, and it was absolutely worth the journey. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the beautiful ambiance and stunning interior design. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal, a date night, or a new cultural food experience.
I ordered the Goat Korma, a dish that was an absolute delight. The tender goat meat was simmered in a garlic and ginger sauce, enriched with a creamy cashew and almond blend. Each bite was a burst of heavenly flavors that left my taste buds in pure bliss.
One of the highlights of our experience was the personalized service. The staff took the time to ask how spicy we wanted our dishes, ensuring they were perfectly tailored to our preferences. Everything we ordered was amazing, showcasing the chef's remarkable talent.
The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The decor added to the overall charm, making it a truly memorable dining experience.
Having eaten at several Indian restaurants, my friend and I can confidently say this one stands out above the rest! The food is outstanding, authentically delicious, and truly champion. It's our new favorite!
