I only ordered out so I cant speak of the service or restaurant setting itself but heres my take on the food. I ordered minced pork and mushroom stir fry with tofu. And ordered spicy chicken with hot chili.
The minced pork was okay in flavor but the issue I had was with the mushrooms. While they are large mushrooms, they became very chewy and frankly difficult to eat. They need to use smaller mushrooms that can cook in a timeframe that wont leave them so chewy still. Also with them being smaller I wont have to take bites out of a large piece or cut them up myself.
The spicy chicken with hot chilis was indeed spicy and tasty; however, I had many times when I bit into the chicken that I got bones or something hard to chew.
Overall decent flavors but food prep is very lacking. Mushrooms need rework in the dish and the chicken needs to be cleaned better so there are no bones in it..
May try this place again and get something more traditional of American Chinese food like general tso's or...
Read morehey what's up guys , my name is alex i'm 22 and i worked at china express on south polk st . for less than a full week. wonder why? maybe because the owners are careless. i was hired on, and witnessed the worst of restaurant horrors. bugs . crawling, near prepped food, they would leave the food out and open . i used to be a manager so my thought was always , is any of this at temp.. or safe at all. i prepped some egg rolls that looked very odd , and was told not to worry there were only couple days old.. the fried rice isn't "fried" it's made in a huge rice cooker "boiled" that they use all day. that disturbed me , i love my pork fried rice. i guess i was asking too many questions so they let me go, i was referred to this company from a friend, he has even worse stories, about flies in the rice and people living in the back. just stay away from these people , have their daughter there all day . what kind of life is this for a child. is she in...
Read moreRecently came back to the area after being in Atlanta for 3+ years and had to find a new Chinese restaurant due to the high prices of the other two restaurants in Charlotte where I use to go. It's amazing how greedy restaurant owners can become in a small amount of time.
Usually don't order through GrubHub but car is broken right now. Decided to give this restaurant a try.
🤔Not the worst Chinese food that I've had but definitely not the best. High over $10 price for sweet and sour chicken.... container not filled up. Chicken fried rice.....just basic, no green onions, no bean sprouts, barely any eggs and I asked for bean sprouts. Shrimp toast very greasy and oily.....just fried it and put it in the container without draining the oil.
Long story short, won't be ordering from this restaurant anymore. Search continues for a good...
