AA Diner — Restaurant in Piscataway Township

Disappointed, especially for a place that features pancakes and waffles on their sign. Both were underwhelming, and they only offer artificial (corn) syrup—no real maple syrup available. The “peppered maple syrup turkey bacon” is just regular turkey bacon with the same syrup poured on top. Service was also slow; we waited 30+ minutes for our food, even though we were told it would be 10–15 minutes wait.

I really wanted to love this spot since it’s so close to home. I gave it a shot last week for the first time and tried the steak and eggs, which were just okay. However, my dining partner had the Mediterranean chicken pita club and absolutely loved it—it was genuinely great which is why I came back.

Maybe the restaurant should consider focusing more on their lunch offerings or streamlining the menu to perfect fewer dishes. Perhaps the items are hit or miss but when I'm paying $50+ on breakfast I would expect it to be...

I wanted to give this place a try. So I ordered takeout food. I ordered 3 bagels, each with different toppings. 1 with c/c, 1 with c/c & lox, & 1 all the way. According to the online menu the bill should have been $32. When I went to pick up it was $42. I mentioned it to the manager and he adjusted the price on 1 of the bagels, but I didn’t realize until I got home that I was overcharged on 2 of the bagels. So I still overpaid by $4. The “all the way bagel” was supposed to be $14.99 and I was charged $18.99. Also the only order they got correct was the 1 bagel with C/c. They messed up the toppings on the other 2. Thankfully there is finally good food in the area! Missing good food since moving from Monmouth county and NY. Great place!

Revising this. The servers need to be better trained with understanding the menu and prices. I almost got overcharged once for a full platter (that I rejected) when it first opened and got overcharged today (months later) with breakfast. I ordered one item (under $10) and a side and got charge for the full platter special (includes eggs). I walked out of there spending $25 which is ridiculous. The waitress misread the menu right in front of me and charged me for the eggs (but acknowledged i didn't get egg- which is true). Please train your wait staff better.
