Pathetic experience of overall Indian food dining. Our family came from LA and had great expectations with NJ food which left us disheartened. Not just us there were other families who were fighting over food while paying we did too.
Ambience- Small place- Indians loud as always - we were also - no complaints. Tables and all normal Service- We were 10 people - ordered appetizers and food. Of all the orders -They bought manchurian gravy without fried rice which we ordered- we asked why rice didn’t come together - they said gravy will get cold in kitchen- I ASKED NOW WHAT DO WE DO LET GRAVY GET COLD IN OUR TABLE WITHOUT RICE- they said that’s how they work ❌. Rest food came in no order FOOD- we ordered chole bature for kids Who can mess up a chole- common- kids said it has no taste - not spice- no taste - we tasted pathetic❌ Burnt garlic chilli rice was loaded with chilli flakes so basically it was fried garlic from before out 3 spoons of chilli flakes and soy sauce and mix and serve.❌ My MIL ordered a veg mix curry and they bought a wrong one❌ Even Panner paneer curry was bland and no taste or masala❌ All same tasteless gravy with same masala Dosa was good with chutneys- I won’t rate sambhar bcoz I’m South Indian my standards are high.☑️ BILL:- They charged us extra for 2 naans. We fought over for bill and the pathetic food. They deducted the wrong curry order OVERALL EXPERIENCE: BAD- STAY AWAY- Save your tastebuds for better food. To wash the bad taste and experience- we ended up in Oaktree for Paan and double kulfi and family pics to forget our bad family...

Read moreI visited Saffron, a new Indian restaurant in Piscataway, and it’s fantastic. The place has a modern and classy vibe while still feeling super cozy. Plus, it’s in a really convenient location, which is a big bonus.
The food was absolutely amazing—authentic flavors that reminded me of India. Here’s what we tried:
Manchow Soup was spicy, comforting, and had just the right crunch. Dry Manchurian was perfectly balanced with tangy and spicy flavors. Mysore Dosa was crispy, and the Sambhar it came with was so authentic it felt like a taste of South India. Paneer Kadai and Cheese Butter Masala—were rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Paired with the soft, garlicky Naan, they were perfect. For street food lovers, the Pav Bhaji and Dahi Puri were spot-on and captured the true essence of Mumbai-style flavors. Dessert was a standout—the Sitafal Ras Malai was light, creamy, and had a delicious custard apple flavor.
The service was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better.
