They’ve edited their response three times now, which only shows how inconsistent and reactive they are.
I went in for a simple battery replacement and left with a damaged watch and a complete lack of professionalism.
This was their first public reply to my review:
"Sir you came in with yeezey flipflops on. What professionalism are you talking about? Your watch was far from perfect condition... We apologized and are willing to fix any issues or replace it."
Yes — they actually brought up my footwear as a way to deflect blame. That alone says everything. Instead of taking responsibility, they offered sarcasm, shifted stories multiple times, and only started offering solutions after my public review — not in the moment when it mattered.
This isn’t about a mistake. It’s about how they handled it: with zero accountability, contradictions, and condescension. I paid because I didn’t want to owe anything to a place that treated me and my watch like that.
I took my G-Shock watch to this jewelry store for a simple battery replacement. What should have been a routine service turned into a frustrating experience. Not only did they damage the buttons, but they also messed up the inner dial — something that was in perfect condition before.
At the start of the conversation, the person mentioned that G-Shock watches are complex. Fair enough, I appreciated the honesty. Instead of taking accountability, he casually said, “Well, it’s still working, right?” and added sarcastically that “these watches don’t last long anyway, maybe 2-3 years.” Then, contradicting his earlier comments, he bragged that they even repair “World War watches” and could easily handle this — a complete reversal that made the whole interaction feel insincere and dismissive.
He offered to “try again” to fix it, but by that point, I had zero confidence in the service due to the lack of professionalism, shifting statements, and sarcastic tone. It didn’t feel like he wanted to make it right — it felt like he just wanted me to stop asking questions.
They offered to waive the battery replacement fee, but I insisted on paying, simply because I didn’t want to owe anything to a place that treated my property and my concerns with such little respect. Mistakes can happen — but how a business responds to them speaks volumes. In this case, there was no professionalism.
I find your response disappointing and deflective.
Bringing up what footwear I had on says everything about the level of professionalism I experienced — it’s irrelevant, unprofessional, and frankly insulting. What matters is how a customer and their property are treated, not what they’re wearing.
As for the condition of the watch: it may have had surface dust from regular use, but it was fully functional, with working buttons and an intact inner dial. After your battery replacement, the buttons were no longer responsive, and the inner dial was visibly misaligned — these are not cosmetic issues. These are damages that occurred during your service.
You did not initially offer a replacement. You first deflected responsibility, said “it’s still working, right?”, and made dismissive comments like “these watches don’t last more than 2–3 years.” Only after I called out the issue did you casually offer to “try again,” which, given the tone and contradiction in your words, didn’t inspire any confidence. Then you suddenly shifted gears, bragging that your store handles "World War watches" and could easily handle this — after just saying G-Shocks were too complex.
Let’s be honest here: I was met with sarcasm, shifting stories, and zero accountability at the time of service. Now, after a public review, you’re suddenly extending offers that should have been made with sincerity in the moment, not damage control after the fact.
Small businesses do make mistakes — I understand that. But the way you respond to those mistakes matters. Respect, accountability, and professionalism were lacking during my visit, and that is the core issue.
I’ve said what I experienced, and I...
Read moreI found Design Jewelry Lab because I pass it every day. I looked at their Google reviews and was impressed with how highly people recommended the jewelry, service and of course, Sagar. I called ahead to ask if they do jewelry repair, and about how long it would take to complete the repair. I went in to drop off my bracelet, and Sagar was absolutely a delight to work with. He was 100% honest about my jewelry and the price to fix was very fair. And of course I started to look at some Of the beautiful pieces he had to offer. He was very transparent about pricing of a few different pieces I was looking at, and I truly appreciate that honesty. So, long story short, I dropped off my bracelet to be fixed and left with a brand new beautiful gold chain and new gorgeous diamond pendant. And ordered another bracelet as well. and maybe possibly let Sagar know which direction to go in when my boyfriend goes in to pick out an engagement right 😉 overall experience was wonderful, comfortable, no pressure, and definitely fun looking at all the shiny things ✨ I feel that Sagar will be our family’s jeweler for repairs and future purchases (with 4 daughters I’m sure we will be there for...
Read moreI've waited over a year to post my review because an engagement ring is not a purchase to take lightly, especially when it comes to the love of my life. Like most men, I had no idea what I was getting myself into and with Sagar's guidance we designed a custom ring for her... long story short - she said 'Yes'.
Pros: • Sagar is knowledgable and his team did help me customize the ring to provide it a classic but sentimental touch • I was picky and my standards were high. They helped me recreate the design I sketched out and worked through some of the limitations with the interior gem stone placements.
Things to consider: • They are a small shop and most of their diamonds are sourced, so you'll need patience when finding the right stone • When I made my purchase, he was a one man shop, so even if you have an appointment, there may be times you'll be waiting for him • Lastly, there may be inconveniences, but that's okay. The ring I had made was custom and an interior gem stone did fall off, he promptly had it fixed and lived up to...
