We just wanted to get away from the heat and the bad air quality (because of the River, Carmel and Dolan Fires) where we live so we got to Pismo & thought it'd be a great stop to get something to eat! We parked right by Cool Cat Cafe and we saw everyone's dishes as we walked by. All the food looked good so we ordered food at the window, not realizing it was the take out orders window. So when my family sat down to wait for our food, one of the workers was a bit rude and said we couldn't eat there because we ordered take out. I talked to the hostess and she said it was fine, as we didn't realize we had ordered take out from that window. We just happened to walk up to it from our parking spot and didn't realize we could order from the menu while sitting down (as all the menus are taped all over the wall). Anyway, it was a total misunderstanding on our part but that's why I'm leaving a 4 stars review instead of the 5 stars I would have given, if it wasn't for the guy being so rude to us at first. Well, the food didn't take very long to get and everything was DELICIOUS! They were huge portions and very tasty. The fries are yummy, so you need to get a basket of those for sure! The server was super nice and friendly. The prices are tourist prices. 4 burgers, a basket of fries and 2 drinks was $57 total. Plus we also got a shake afterwards which was another $7.99 plus the tip for everything which was $20 total. So $77 for 4 people for lunch was a little too steep think. However, everything tasted good and my family got to enjoy a day outside and be able to BREATHE. So overall, it was well...
Read moreWent here after watching melodrama show and had the adult milkshakes. visited friday may 18th around 10pm. We were welcomed in by a very nice young lady with a welcoming smile and positive attitude. the milkshakes were excellent and no skimp on the liqueur. my waitress was o.k, but i don't know if she felt comfortable servicing the only Latino and Hispanics in the place. she did say hi, and bye and asked if the shakes were good once, but had she asked if we would like anything else rather than just sliding our bill on the table as she walked by without even looking at us, we would have all ordered more.. the onion rings were smelling awesome and by the end of our shakes the smell of the food was just to good not to try, but we were never asked and so never ordered. maybe they were closing? we just paid the bill that was slid on our table. Now as for the young lady selling flowers, had you approached our table rather than look at us and than go to people in front of us, you would have sold 2 dozen of the white roses with red tips, I've been with my wife for 20 years even tho we don't look that old and am pushing 41. Also it was my young friends wife birthday that evening as well as she turned 26. she conversed very well with the older Caucasian men but gave a crappy look towards us... I definitely want to try the food and will definitely go back for a milkshake or 2 or 3... i hope to change this review in the future to a more en-lighting one. until my next visit. bar tender keep up the great job on...
