And our first food stop in Pismo Beach is….🥁🥁🥁…Pismo Fish & Chips! This family-owned seafood restaurant has been serving legit coastal comfort since 1963—and the legacy shows. 📍Pismo Fish and Chips 505 Cypress St, Pismo Beach, CA 93449 ☎️ (805) 773-2853 🕒 Open every day 11am–8pm (except Mondays) #pismofood #pismobeachfood #slofood #pismoeats #pismorestaurants #californiafood #californiafoodies #californiarestaurants #californiaeats #pismofoodie #pismobeachcalifornia #pismobeach #visitpismo #visitpismobeach

In town for a basketball tourney and wanted to give this place a try. Love the local feel/ambiance of the place - like a beach pub/dive feel. The food and service was AWESOME! Part of our team family also wanted to give it a try so we all met up at the place – 9 total guests. We asked to be seated close to each other but separate parties and they gave no fuss about being on one check or added service charge like how other places would. Our server, DAISY was one-of-a-kind. She was great from start to finish. In fact it was because of her that sold us to getting/trying/ordering the Deep Fried Cheesecake dessert. We were on the fence about ordering it since we were rather full with our meals but she sold us on it and the dessert did not disappoint. She wasn’t pushy about it, she sold it just right. I ordered the Fish Sandwich while my son got the Fish and Chips. Both were more than enough for our appetite and we came hungry after the games. The Fish Sandwich was so fresh and was battered just enough making it feel light so you can fully enjoy the fish without having to get through a thick/heavy batter. The overall sandwich was soft and mouth watering after every bite. My son ate ALL his Fish and Chips. The order came with three big cuts of fish, which is the same fish used in the sandwich. He did not complain one bit and enjoyed it all. One of our guest, my son’s teammate, order the Lobster Po’Boy sandwich and he too loved it…not a peep until he scarfed the whole thing down – and he’s a picky eater. All in all, nothing but positive review for this place. Even the restrooms were clean and fresh compared to other coastal cities I’ve been to. IF I had to issue one negative comment, it would be outside the restaurant’s control and that would be parking. Kinda tuff to find a place to park in the entire area, BUT that has nothing to do with the place.

Simplified review. Food was good. Not special. Not bad. Customer service no issues. Ambience is beach side. Fish and chips you don't get much for what you pay for but it's good. Water is free. Value overall it's expensive. You're paying tourist price. I recently dined at Pismo Fish and Chips and ordered the fish and chips, clam chowder with bread, lobster rolls, and coleslaw. The fries were served with ketchup. The standout dish was the clam chowder, which was served in a warm, freshly-baked bread bowl. The chowder had a creamy texture and a rich, savory flavor that was accentuated by the fresh herbs and spices used in its preparation. The bread bowl added an additional layer of flavor and texture to the dish, creating a delicious combination that was both filling and satisfying. The fish and chips were equally impressive, with the fish battered to a perfect crispness and the fries cooked to a satisfying level of crunchiness. The lobster rolls were indulgent and flavorful, and the coleslaw provided a refreshing counterpoint to the richness of the other dishes. Overall, I had an excellent dining experience at Pismo Fish and Chips. The food was expertly prepared and presented, and the restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere that made for a comfortable dining experience. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a top-notch seafood restaurant in the area. Awesome. Can you also include that I ordered it with water. The water came in a plastic coca cola cup. It was free. Sure, here's the revised review with the additional detail about the water: During my recent visit to Pismo Fish and Chips, I ordered the fish and chips, clam chowder with bread, lobster rolls, and coleslaw. Best friend and I came with high hopes after seeing good reviews that this place would have quality fresh seafood. Ordered calamari as an appetizer which was around 16 dollars. Came out dry, shriveled, and tough as if they microwaved and served it to us. Friend ordered their fish n chips which seemed to come out okay as their batter was fluffy but they were flavorless. 22 dollars. Ordered the lobster roll, and it came out on a roll that was dry, a coleslaw styled lobster mix with mayo which was piled high on top instead of inside, and a giant piece of romaine lettuce on the bottom. 22 dollars. I was confused as a typical lobster roll was made with the actual chunks of lobster meat, rather than what looked like imitation crab spread. The server was very understanding and kind when we inquired if the food was supposed to be this way, we concluded that after eating a couple of bites that it just wasn’t good enough to finish. We tried to compromise and ask to pay for what we ate which was half the lobster roll, half the calamari and the drink. My friend bit a bite out of one fish on the plate, not even half. But unfortunately the best they could do at first was 10 percent off. We received the bill and it was still at 63+ dollars which we didn’t even feel comfortable paying for especially for food we didn’t finish. I asked her again if there was anything else she could do, we weren’t trying to not pay for our dishes, we felt that it was fair to at least 50% of the meals and if not then at least take the fish n chips off and pay for the rest full price but the best they could do was 50% off the fish n chips. Total we ended up playing was 52 dollars. It’s just upsetting when an establishment claims to be fresh and serve quality food and then serve us something so dissapointing. Will never be coming here again and will let others know this was our experience. If you’re a tourist go elsewhere for your moneys worth, I promise there’s better quality seafood elsewhere for the same price or less. Take this from people who have never sent food back before because we typically try to just tough it out. We just couldn’t finish the food of low quality...
