El Buen Gusto Salvadoreño — Restaurant in Pittsburg

By far the BEST restaurant pupusas I've tasted. I'm Salvadorean so you can say I've had quite my share of pupusas in my lifetime. This place is about 45min away from where I stay and YES! I take the drive when I want some delicious pupusas. I was never a fan of pupusas de arroz but this place have made me change my mind. Wether you're a maiz or de arroz you can NEVER go wrong with either one! They STUFFED their pupusas with food and you can actually taste el chicharron when you order revueltas(pork,cheese,beans)! Which is hard to find nowadays. The arroz dough was so crispy and chewy and filled as well, full of flavor. I also ordered a non traditional one which was cheese with jalapeño and was so flavorful as well. Very nice spicy kick and full of ooey gooey cheese! If you're craving delicious traditional pupusas that are a good size, you need to come to this spot. This is our family's favorite place. The service is a hit or miss depending on who you get but it's a risk I'm always willing to take because yes, the pupusas are that good. They have SOME friendly staff. Worst customer service ever!!!! WE LOVED THIS PLACE. TYPICALLY HAVE FAMILY DINNERS ONCE A MONTH. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. WE PUT AN ORDER FOR ONLY 8 PUPUSAS AT 440. THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE DONE BY 520. WE GOT THERE AT 530 TO GIVE THEM A LIL EXTRA TIME. WHWN ARRIVED, THEY CHARGED US SAID THEY WERE GRABBING OUR ORDER 20 MINS GO BY AND NO ONE COMES BACK WITH OUR ORDER. NOW ITS 550. THEY SAID ONLY HALF OUR ORDER WAS READY. WHEN REQUESTED FOR A REFUND 3 TIMES THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK AND WALKED AWAY AND DIDN'T COME BACK TILL 620 WITH OUR ORDER. We get home to eat our food and our order was completely wrong. WHEN called and requested another refund they refused again and said they can remake it. We went here after church and noticed only a couple of people in there along with a group of like 8 people. So they weren’t really busy. We weren’t acknowledged at all so decided to seat ourselves and as we’re sitting the waitress says to sit wherever. We waited for the 1 waitress to come around to us. And she tended to everyone else and finally us, and then she brought us the menus and disappeared. I started to see more people arriving and honestly I didn’t feel like waiting around. I didn’t even get around to ordering because if it took that long to acknowledge us it was going to take even longer to have our order taken and our food made and brought to us.
