5th Avenue Food Market — Restaurant in Pittsburgh

Discovered this place by chance, and it was such a pleasant surprise. I was working out of a nearby cafe, but unfortunately they did not have any food and I was extremely hungry, so I looked up any food places nearby. This Deli was only a couple minutes away, and people were raving about the corned beef sandwich so that is what I got. The deli is pretty simple and has some selection of drinks and snacks, but the sandwich corner is very prominent with neatly stacked ingredients and very sweet ladies who are making the sandwiches. The lady who took my order was extremely sweet and nice, and she asked me for my choice of bread, cheese, and toppings. For $13, the sandwich was massive and an absolute steal. I haven’t had any corned beef sandwiches in my life, but for what it was, it was extremely tasty. it came with two thinly sliced pickles, which added a nice acidity to the fatty meat. I was so hungry. I literally ate it while waiting for my bus....

Very clean, the owner and staff are very respectful and attentive and polite to each customer. VERY DELICIOUS SANDWICHES of all kinds. Precise when making your sandwich! Everything is very fresh and very neatly made! They also, have salads, convenient store things as well. One stop shop. With these sandwiches, you can make another sandwich out your one sandwich!!! 🥪 Not stingy @ all!!! I appreciate MR. Sam and his crew!!!! I’m from the Hill District and I appreciate the fact that there is a place such as this to come back to! It should be a HISTORICAL LANDMARK!!!!!! This is the cleanest most organized store I have EVER seen in my life! And I truly mean that! I actually found myself just curiously looking at the corners in the ceiling for normal dust collection and there wasn’t any at all. This place is immaculate! You can tell the owners and staff really take pride in their shop and they are beyond some of the most friendly, down to earth people in the city. The food is fresh and delicious!! Honestly better than Jimmy Johns and you actually get a decent portion of meat. Also being it’s so organized they have your order made in minutes. This was my first visit and I intend many more...
