Cafe Milano — Restaurant in Pittsburgh

First make sure there is more than one server. It took us about half an hour to get waited on. NP one server and busy. However after that. Our first item arrived about half an hour after that still no beverages. We had to ask twice for them and they did not all arrive. About a half hour or so after that our second item arrived stuffed shells. No silverware had to ask for them. Still did not get the rest of our drinks. After going to the bar and still waiting I got the rest of our beverages. Came back to our table our third item had arrived. Stuffed shells with silverware this time. Still no cheese pizza even though we watched several of them pass our table to be given to people who came in after we had ordered our food . After asking what we ordered we said we would take what ever pizza came up next.and a carry outbox. I understand short staff and all. However unorganized an lack of attention are different. I come every now and then to get slices here. The people downstairs in the kitchen are genuinely so kind and when I get a need for pizza, this is where I head. This particular time though I decided to venture to the upstairs where they have a bar area and extra seating. While eating I, embarrassingly enough, inhaled a fragment and started to choke. There was another patron that began to roll their eyes at me while the server/bartender giggled in agreement with him as I struggled to breathe. After eventually getting to the restroom and regaining composure I come back to my seat only to see a to-go container next to my food and the server/bartender handing me a check??? Pretty sure I've just experienced first hand how people end up choking to death in public... I should also mention the manicotti I got wasn't pasta tubes? It seemed more like crepe? Pretty inedible and I did choose to not to take it with me after my abruptly impolite goodbye. Those slices of pizza ARE good. 10/10 would recommend. I, unfortunately, will not be...

EDIT: I ended up having to submit a letter of complaint to the BBB. After receiving this letter, Sam reached out to me on behalf of Cafe Milano and we had a very civil and nice conversation. I think that the owners of the business might not be aware of what happens when they are not around. Anyways, the issue that I had was corrected, and I will be returning my business to this location. Changing my rating to 4 stars!

I live in a delivery area, they delivered to me 2/3 times, then told me they would not deliver to me anymore because it is “too far”. Then they send me a mailer with their menu and that they deliver here. So I call them back and they tell me they won’t deliver? Bad business practice. DO NOT PUT YOU WILL DELIVER AND THEN GO BACK ON YOUR WORD. Especially after you delivered here already! Manager blamed it on “the mailing system”.
