After touring numerous properties downtown, I chose Aria and lived here for 1.5 years. My experience was nothing short of outstanding. If you're considering living downtown you need to do yourself a favor and tour this property - - you will be sold immediately!
I've tried to summarize some of the key elements of the property / my experience below, but could write way more:
Location: This property is perfectly located in downtown's Cultural District. You are just feet away from theaters, and awesome restaurants. Plus a short walk from other downtown attractions (market square) and sites. I walked to work daily while living here! The North Shore is an easy 5-10 minute walk away (great for Pirates & Steelers games), plus all of the trails around the point, North Shore, etc. are easy to use daily if you like walking/jogging/biking.
Units: Each unit in the building looks stunning. The finishes are all very modern, the floors are hardwood, and the high ceilings make each unit feel even larger. Plus there are large windows in each unit that provide an awesome view of the street and/or rivers, depending on which direction you face, and let ample natural light in. The owners clearly invested a lot when renovating this property, and it shows. Each unit has an industrial loft aesthetic, that is very modern and cool.
Amenities: The building itself offers a gym to residents, which couldn't be more convenient. Also there is additional locked storage available (for a tiny fee), package receiving at the office, a great coffee maker in the lobby, and a freight elevator for move in / move out. Also, there is a parking lot located directly next to the building that is super convenient.
Residents: Everyone in the building is super friendly, and clearly happy to be living here. This is not an enormous property (roughly 40 units, maybe?) so you see familiar faces when living here, without a huge flow of strangers in the building. If you are interested, the property management hosts periodic social events at local restaurants/bars for residents of the building.
Management / leasing staff: The leasing office staff is fantastic! Maintenance calls are a breeze to request, and are promptly handled; payments are easily done online, and there is always someone available to help you with anything. Krisitin (the manager) couldn't be more helpful or friendly, and was so easy to work with. I extended my initial 1 year lease an additional 6 months, and it couldn't have been easier. Krisitin and the team go the extra mile each day to make sure you feel like you're at...
Read moreI lived at the Aria for a year, and it was super comfortable. My neighbors were always warm and cheerful and the management was unbelievable. Literally. If you think these other reviews are lying, you'd be wrong. Kristen and crew are extremely quick at responding to things and they actually treat their tenants like people. (I moved in during the Covid toilet paper crisis and was greeted with the gift of a pack of Charmin lol) This isn't like living in one of those places where you're just a unit number. They're also very non-invasive and respect your privacy. For example, there was a leak somewhere behind the walls once and they needed to get into my closet to investigate. They were careful to plan as to not to interrupt my day too much. Maintenance was in and out and didn't leave a mess. The maintenance guys were very polite and efficient the few times I interacted with them.
The apartment itself is the most beautiful I've ever lived in. A perfect blend of the old carriage factory it was over 100 years ago (the building is a historical landmark) and modern sensibilities. While it seriously lacked storage space, which was particular to my unit I think, the floor to ceiling windows, high exposed ceilings, stone countertops, and like-new appliances made up for it. I already sorely miss the glass top stove and deep kitchen sink. I won't miss living downtown, but that's my personal preference. Otherwise, I would have happily stayed at the Aria. It's a really...
Read moreWhere to even start... Sure the building is gorgeous (a historical landmark as notated on the plaque out front), with exposed brick everywhere you look, incredible lofted ceilings with exposed beams, and wonderous views out over the Allegheny river - but the true gem of the Aria lies within the people themselves. Never have I lived in a place that felt more like one giant home than an apartment complex. Need help moving in? Done. Want to know what places are good to eat? We'll go together. Need someone to watch your pet for a weekend? You'll have more people jumping up to help than you know what to do! This place is truly a community more than just a place to live. The building manager(s) are incredible and put YOU first. The amenities are great, including a rooftop longue area with great views of the city skyline - and a newly renovated fitness facility. There is storage space if you need it (I personally never needed more than the spacious apartment), and of course the downtown location is ideal. I highly recommend looking into the Aria - you...
