I went in today with my partner just out of curiosity and to get out of the rain. The server there tells us to sit anywhere and claimed they would get right to us. We sat down and waited to be served. Safe to say they didn't get to us almost to around the time they closed. That was the first red flag. While we were sitting for so long, the server staff kept giving us dirty looks and ignoring us and serving others that had JUST ENTERED, while we had been there for over an hour. When they finally got to us, my partner tried asking about the grandma's breakfast special they had advertised out on their window, only for the server to say they didn't serve that here. Another red flag due to false advertisement which can get them into serious legal trouble. The last red flag that really set me off is how shady they priced everything and the food portions. Pancakes alone were 10 bucks. If you wanted to add things like eggs, bacon, sausages or anything like that of the sort, it was 4 dollars EACH. Overall that would have been 12 bucks alone right there on top of the overpriced, small pancakes they serve you. Add those two together and you get a whopping 22 bucks alone. On top of that, the food we had gotten was cold. I legit feel ripped off and just want my money back. I'm overall rightfully pissed. Worst experience ever and never coming back.

To be honest, do yourself a favor and steer clear from here. Honestly, anywhere is...

UPDATE: I sadly have to change my review from all five stars to what you see now.

I had family in town and made bad decision of going to Cafe Mona on a Monday.

Serving (a male) was rude and short with us. Even though we arrived at 1pm and it wasn't supposed to close until 3 pm per website, at 1:55 pm he shut off the AC and began pulling tables inside. One of my guests was my 82 year old aunt. How dare you do this to an elderly woman! It was well into the 90s that day and we were sweating something awful.

I was embarrassed that I had bragged about this place to my visitors.

To the tall guy working on Monday, August 5th, you are simply awful and rude. This review update is a reflection of you and how you treated us. First visit: Our first time there and it was fabulous!

Jesus, our server, was excellent. Food was delicious and atmosphere was a delight!

How have we passed this place up so many times on our Saturday morning trips to the Strip?!? This is a jewel!

Looking forward to our next visit!

Btw, highly recommend the portobello crepe! A savory...

Food was good, coffee was below mid (they gave us hot lattes in plastic cups that was mixed with chocolate milk… not the move), but the issue was with the service. They brought out the check that we needed split but couldn’t “split it” properly… and the itemized check did not have the prices next to it so you take it up front for them to portion it out and as they would take each item they would add it into a calculator and each time they would call out an item they would up charge the item in front of us thinking we didn’t catch it. We then said that the price was not right and that we got pancakes, bagel…. And he realized we were onto him. Re typed it in and still didn’t get it right and was acting oblivious to what was happening. Then tried having us cover our friends items that he said he forgot on there’s when they also over payed. I don’t like to put these kind of reviews out there but this was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had at a cafe for such mid food and drink. I do not recommend. Wish I got that guys name to put on here because he is...

We will definitely be back here! Caffe’ Mona in Pittsburgh, Pa. 🥞☕️🍳 #pittsburgh #pittsburghpa #brunch #pennsylvania

Firstly, the food was absolutely delicious, came out very quickly, and fair priced. We waited a fair bit for a table to open up, but that’s to be expected in the Strip on a Sunday. There is no designated waiting area either so it’s a bit crammed in the front, but again, you come to expect that in the strip. Also, no high chairs or booster seats, but sometimes that’s to be expected too. What I didn’t expect was pure attitude from the host guy. That person’s attitude alone ruined my experience. He didn’t smile one time, treated every customer who walked in the door like a chore, and gave the absolute dirtiest looks to any child who was in the restaurant, including mine. My friend and I watched my baby smile at him and try to get his attention, he blatantly stared at him, rolled his eyes, and walked off to seat the next table. This man needs to be trained in etiquette and customer service. He’s not in the right industry if all he does is roll eyes and get irritated with kids and people trying to patronize the place he works at.
