Very nice, relatively recently opened place located in the downtown area. I’m very sad to hear that Samovar, the previous halal place that was in this same location on Smithfield St. So, this place had big shoes to fill. Luckily, they do make some very good food, and I was pretty satisfied with my order — although, it wasn’t quite as good as Samovar. I tried their chicken kebab, Uzbek bread, and Napoleon cake.
The kebab was quite good. They serve the meat with a huge serving of onions in the side. The meat itself also came in a huge portion, with lots of big chunks. The meat is pretty well seasoned. However, I’d say the meat is also a bit on the fatty side, which I’m not a fan of, and I would have liked it to be cooked a bit more.
The Uzbek bread is always one of my favorites to get on the site at halal restaurants. It was very, very good. A great portion for just $3. Soft on the inside, a nice core on the outside. You can make a mini sandwich with the onions, meat, and bread if you want, and it’s delicious.
Finally, the Napoleon cake was very good. Usually, the cakes often taste like the refrigerator at restaurants, but this cake tasted fresh and delicious. A decent amount of cream and fluffiness. Very good overall, but not overpoweringly sweet, which I also like.
All in all, I recommend this place. I’ll miss Samovar, but this spot does a good job of serving similar delicious meals. Will try some red...

I had been told that this place served amazing food, but nothing could have prepared me for the level of hospitality and deliciousness that awaited. From the tea to the shashlik and Lula kebab, every dish was breathtaking. The shashlik, in particular, was the softest I have ever tasted in the USA, melting in your mouth with every bite. The aroma hinted at the quality of the wood used for grilling, adding an irresistible smoky flavor.
The Uzbek bread, or pita, was remarkably fluffy, with a freshness and taste that took me by surprise.
We also sampled the Kazan kebob, a dish of meat and potatoes slow-cooked in a kazan. Each bite was unexpectedly delightful, showcasing a depth of flavor that lingered long after the meal ended.
I extend my heartfelt wishes for prosperity and blessings to the owners. This place is an absolute gem, and I highly...
