It's been over 4 months since I last had Indian food from a restaurant. Masala sounded really good, and I found this spot online. Reviews were mixed and the place doesn't seem too popular but I still gave it a try. I ordered the mango lassi and chicken tikka masala. The chicken tikka masala was extremely disappointing. I saw this dish was only ten cents more expensive than my usual meal (chana masala) so why not try it? Well, there was almost no chicken. 4 tiny chunks of chicken at max. Instead of loading up on chicken, they have whole chunks of onion scattered throughout. When I've had tikka masala, the onions have always been blended in the sauce. I was not expecting onion shunks, and they were not a good substitute for chicken. It was creamy, almost excessively so. They made it a fair spice level (I requested mild). Portion on the small side. Rice was okay, nothing special. Cooked to a decent extent. The mango lassi came in a good portion. It wasn't too sweet, which is nice. The consistency was a little thicker than I expected, but it was overall pretty okay. All in all, a disappointing experience. Probably should have ordered the chana, not good chicken tikka masala. More like onion masala. Okay mango lassi.

If you want to eat authentic North Indian food in Pittsburgh, then this restaurant is a must visit. New owners. The Chef, Kumar, graduated from a culinary school in India and knows a lot about Indian food. This local business is an upstart by this young entrepreneur and needs everyone's support. What I liked about the restaurant:- Food is authentic. No extra oil. Tastes like home cooked food. Not very spicy. But has all the flavors. The portions are big. Their naan is very soft and fluffy. Rates are reasonable.( Samosa chat in Bay area, California is almost double this price) Staff( Kutty) is knowledgeable and good. Vegan options are available( order vegetarian dishes without paneer and cream) What can be improved:- Name Board outside.. We almost missed the restaurant and went to the next shop.

I never had Indian food before . I was attempting to go in or not but I am glad I did. The server was very genuine and polite The food was Awesoooommmmmeeee!!! Because I am big fan of spicy food , when she asked me from 1 to 10 how spicy you want your food to be .. immediately I said 10 as I love to be challenged 1☺. The Royal Shrimp tikka masala came in soaked with deep red sauce emmmmmm..the first bite of rice mix the spicy red sauce was enough for me to be dancing on my toes Indian music 🦐🦐🏃‍♂️🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♀️..it was so good .It was Fireamin (Vitamin)..Energy food . If you get tired of casual spices, the same food over and over, the daily eating routine..just treat your self with something from this place .. I'll make sure every time I am in town, I'll stop by for lunch or dinner .

I especially Chicken Tikka Masala and so that's what I ordered. I'm pretty used to spicy foods and so I ordered it at a level 10 out of 10 for the spice level. I also ordered extra sauce and two naan. One of the naan was just regular naan and the other garlic. The person taking my order was friendly and provided me with the total and an estimated completion time of 10 to 15 minutes before I could pick the meal.

I arrived a little after 15 minutes from the time of call do the food was done and ready. I paid for the food and went on my way. I noticed immediately once I opened my food that there was no cutery. Fortunately, I was in a location where I had access to this... As I opened the food, I could see the food was hot and fresh. There was a significant amount of oil on top of the Chicken Tikka Masala dish and the rice was not filled to the top of the container. The bread was placed together in aluminum instead of being wrapped individually.

The food was tasty and fresh. The Chicken Tikka Masala sauce was very spicy to the point that it completely overpowered the flavor. It was almost unsavory due to the amount of spice. Now this might have been my fault for ordering such a high spice level, but I have had this same level in the same dish were it compliments the dish instead over destroying the flavor. The rice was tasty and a good quality Basmati Rice. The bread was hot and fresh and delicious as well.

Other than the things mentioned, I'd eat here again. I would like to try their lunch buffet. The other thing I noted was the signage outside the restaurant was not inviting and very difficult to read and see. It was faded and easy for someone to pass. Overall,...

I recently visited Royal Mezbaan for a buffet lunch, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. When you hear the word "buffet," you typically anticipate a wide variety of dishes to choose from—but that was not the case here. The selection was surprisingly limited, with only a handful of items on offer.

Out of the entire spread, only the Haleem and Goat Paya stood out in terms of taste and quality. These two dishes were flavorful and satisfying. However, the rest of the items were bland and lacked the authentic touch you’d expect from a place like this. One particular letdown was the chicken curry, which turned out to be more like a chicken soup—thin, watery, and completely lacking in spice or richness.

To add to the disappointment, the pricing felt unjustified considering the minimal variety and average quality of food. For a buffet that charges a premium, one would expect not only more choices but also better taste and presentation.

Overall, while Royal Mezbaan has potential and a couple of standout dishes, the current buffet experience doesn’t offer value for money. I hope they reconsider their menu offerings and focus more on flavor and variety to enhance the overall...
