A few months ago new owners took over and cleaned the place up significantly. It is a cool bar but somehow after the clean up the people are worse. A few guys decided to call this place “their bar” and are just really unpleasant to be around and aggressive. Unfortunately a few bad apples ruined the whole experience. it's refreshing that there's still a place in pittsburgh where the customer isn't always right and recognizes that the world is a wild and varied place. remedy is a dive bar, plain and simple. but everything from the smoky air to the friendly bartenders to the cheap drinks makes it feel a bit like stepping back into the 1970s (which i only know through learned nostalgia). i love coming here. don't expect to be dazzled or feted or pampered. but maybe - just maybe - if you leave your karen hat at home and listen and observe, you'll see how magical a place this is. remedy asks that you step up and embrace your dignity and that of those around you. I absolutely love the venue however, three times that I have been there the music has been absolutely HORRIBLE. Not sure what DJ they are booking on Saturday nights but unless you like chopped and slopped music I would not recommend going.

I'm giving them 1 star because of this since going upstairs is usually a large part of my Saturday nights but the music recently has been SO BAD.
