I've never been here before, was walking by and figured I'd try it out, but this place is an absolute disgrace to local Pittsburgh food and gyro shops in general, I'll never stop in again.
Cash only, lucky I had a 20 on me, first sign I should have walked away.
I noticed I was the only one in there at 9pm during the busy times on south side, second sign I should have walked out.
Gyros are incredibly tiny, burnt meat taste, chewy in areas, and their fry portions are a joke. Not to mention, they had old fries sitting in the fryer already cooked, and for my order dude just drops some already cooked fries for 30 seconds and serves them. Very cool my guy. Love these super hard and stale re-fried fries.
And while I'm here, they use some off brand ketchup packets, not using Heinz ketchup in Pittsburgh is a huge no-no
You being a family owned business does not change anything or get sympathy from me, you are charging me for a product, and your product is simply, not very good. Yes snarky owner, that means you as you type your cute personalized reply, born and raised here, 30 years. Yes you've been here for 50 years, and if this is what your customer base likes then I guess it's just not for me.
Any other disappointed gyro fans read this!!!!! Go check out Shah's over in Oakland, their gyros are incredible, 50c cheaper, and three times the size and meat. And their fry portions are also much larger. An absolute night and day experience.
Edit: And with an attitude like that, you are practically asking me to bad mouth your business when it's brought up in conversation. But oh right you don't care, because you guys are just soo legendary to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIād give 0 stars if able to. I havenāt had Mike & Tonyās gyros in so long and when my daughter said she was on the south side I suggested she stop and get us some gyros. She ordered 2 gyros with extra sauce and oregano on the side. When she got home in New Kensington, and we opened up the gyros there was no sauce at all not on the gyros and not on the side also no oregano. Called them to express my disappointment and all they would say is sorry for your inconvenience. Really thatās it! No credit? Ok so itās obvious you arenāt the one I spoke to. I didnāt swear and yes Iām sure I was loud because thatās what happens when I get upset. I gave the guy my daughters name and I wasnāt able to ask her how she paid, I assumed it was a debit card, but I told him that and that she ran out to Giant Eagle to get the sauce. If you reviewed your security footage and seen someone with 2 gyros in a bag and the guy actually put sauce on them then you most definitely didnāt review the whole tape or wrong one not sure. Anyway with that all aside your employee didnāt have any remedy to offer and I even asked, he said thereās nothing he can do but heās sorry for my inconvenience. I then asked for a credit and he said he canāt do that. So anyway this is how you handle a dissatisfied customerā¦hmmm! Change up the story so others think I was out of line and your employee did everything possible to satisfy me. What a joke. Next time there will be photos and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has gone downhill and keeps going downhill. It used to be my favorite. I would rather go downtown sometimes or to the Bridgeville location. This one has to be the worst!! I fully understand if you cannot find reliable or appropriate staff, but some of those people in there look ridiculous and their attitude totally sucks, especially the older woman who takes orders on the phone! Sometimes she lays that phone down and you can hear her talking and running her mouth for over 10 minutes,Thatās absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. The salads have hardly no lettuce in them. I thought meat was more expensive than lettuce. I canāt figure out why but I would like a little lettuce with my salad one time they charcoal burnt my chicken and she asked me to bring the salad back. I had already punched back into work and was at work. You would think they would take your name and maybe take half off of your lunch next time but no the customer service sucks.!!! Iāll stick with the Bridgeville location for now on sad because I do enjoy eating there for lunch sometimes! From what I hear there are some Gyro places on Carson now, so maybe I will try...
