5-āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø I’ll admit it—I used to hate matcha. That is, until I visited Mikkusu Matcha Tea House during a food tour. Now, I’m hooked. In fact, I drive 45 minutes into the city just to stock up on matcha powder from this place because, quite frankly, I won’t buy matcha from anyone else. The quality here is unmatched. The owner, who clearly takes pride in his craft, personally prepares each matcha latte. You can taste the difference in every sip—smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. It's evident that he has an intimate understanding of the delicate flavors that matcha can offer when prepared with care. Beyond the exceptional drinks, the atmosphere at Mikkusu is peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy your beverage. The space itself is tranquil and unhurried, with a vibe that encourages you to slow down and savor the moment. And if you're looking for something beyond just matcha lattes, their unique selection of treats is a delightful bonus. From matcha-flavored pastries to sweets, everything is thoughtfully made and adds to the overall experience. Mikkusu Matcha Tea House has completely changed my perception of matcha, and now it’s my go-to destination whenever I need to restock or indulge in a truly authentic matcha experience. It’s a gem that’s definitely worth the drive. @mikkusupgh . . #pittsburgh #PittsburghMatcha #PittsburghEats #PittsburghCoffeeScene #PghMatcha #PittsburghCafes #MatchaInPittsburgh #PghEats #Matchalovers #MatchaInPittsburgh #SupportLocalPittsburgh #MatchaTime #MatchaAddict #CaffeineFix #MatchaVibes

It’s honestly so hard to not stop in here every single day I walk the dog; I’ve limited myself to every other day sadly but it’s literally my go to as I’m more of a tea girl than a coffee girl. Mosaic has some of the best matcha concoctions I’ve ever had! Everything is so fresh and made with love. I haven’t tried any of the food but looks and smells amazing. Service is as fast as can be, and they don’t mind me bringing my dog in either. My go to is the Sakura Rose Latte, but if I’m craving something not milk based, I get the matcha spritzer! It is the tastiest and most refreshing drink on a hot steamy day! I wish they had trenta sized cups LOL pictured is the rose latte

The matcha and hojicha are both super delicious; not overly sweet, just how I like it. The cold foam is absolutely incredible - you have to try it!!! Appreciated that the drinks default to soy milk, which really brings out the matcha flavor. We also tried the red bean onigiri, which is homemade and really really good - it was the first sweet onigiri I’ve had, and I really enjoyed it. Vegan choices are clearly marked (majority of the items actually!!), and the atmosphere is lovely as well. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend checking out Mikkusu tea house!

Mikkusu Matcha Tea House (formerly Mosaic Tea Leaf - I think it was just a name change(?), not a change in ownership) is a true gem in the city. I’ve tried a variety of their drinks - the iced hojicha rose latte and iced celestial cocoa latte are particular standouts, especially since I limit my caffeine intake.

The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. I also really appreciate that when I asked to leave out the added sugar syrup in certain drinks, they were able to accommodate - delicious even without it!

I travel often, and it’s far too common to walk into chain or corporate-run tea shops where everything is pre-mixed and artificial, with no room for simple requests. Lucky to have a place like this...
