It had been 27 years or so since my wife and I were in the strip district after moving away to Texas. We were staying downtown and were late on Sunday for the hotel breakfast, so we went down to the strip to have some breakfast at Pamela's at 11 am. Of course, everyone else had that idea too! So we turned the corner and were walking down the street, and we instantly recognized the building and wandered in and had serious deja vous! WOW - Roland's expanded since we'd been there - now taking over the building to the right - what a beautiful job they did blending the old bar into the other half side! SERVICE was TOP NOTCH! The bartender was on point and memorable to the point we asked him about the restaurant, and it turned out he'd been there before the last time we were there - I swear he'd been waiting on us 27 years ago! (I think his name was Johnny, not 100% sure.) He was amazing with the service, as the bar filled up, making sure everyone was happy. Navigating the menu, old memories of favorites came back to us, and my wife ordered the lobster roll (it was $6 or so bucks the last time we were there), but even with the new price, THE AMOUNT OF LOBSTER AND THE SIZE OF THE LOBSTER CHUNKS were amazing. The lobster tasted perfect, fresh, correctly cooked, and on that Mancini's bread - UNBEATABLE. My wife had an amazing Bloody Mary (because of course, Sunday morning!) and I started with a Guinness on tap (because they HAVE Guinness on tap! Excellent!) before we moved onto local beers. I did have as a starter the Stuffed Banana Peppers - which had the best spicy sausage you can ONLY get in Pittsburgh. Then I had another starter which were the Breaded Shrimp - also unbeatable because of how HUGE the shrimp were ! Overall the service was on point - 5 stars - the bartender made the experince memorable. The food - AMAZING - 5 stars of course. And ambience, beer selection, friendly environment, conversations at the bar - so nice ! I love Pittsburgh and 100% miss it - places like this that we can come back to after 27 years makes Pittsburgh truly amazing. (The prices are also good - you pay for what you get - and you get really...
Read moreWent here tonight with my family for my granddaughters 18th birthday dinner. Waitress was a bit short and forgot a few items we ordered since she did not write any of it. There were 9 of us. Appetizers were brought out however my shrimp cocktail was not. After everyone else was served and salads were brought out I inquired about my shrimp cocktail. Waitress told me it comes from a different kitchen and she didn't get there yet. My salad was to have raspberry vinegarette but received balsamic instead. I asked again about shrimp cocktail and she just walked away. At this time my son had begun to eat his salad and a long hair was in his salad and the other end went into his mouth. The hair was at least 10 inches long. He asked another Waitress to look at it she was shocked and he asked her if she could be our server but she said NO since she was a coworker of our Waitress. She advised us she would get the manager and the Waitress came back to our table and said she has been nothing but nice to our family and that we could not complain about the service. The manager came out a few minutes later and he offered us a different Waitress by this time my son was totally disgusted and just wanted to leave. The long hair ruined his appetite. I'm almost certain they were waiting for Robert wholey to open tomorrow morning for my shrimp as it never came out. 😆 🤣. Also my son and grandson had ordered the surf and turf the Waitress had come back after she delivered their appetizers and advised that it was not available we asked what part wasn't available and she went to check then said it was available. Overall was very disappointing and we did leave at that point did not eat dinner there and went to try to find somewhere else to have dinner. Not sure if just a off night or if this is the norm. We were going to go elsewhere bit ended up there which was a colossal mistake. Go at...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My daughter and son-in-law chose Roland’s Seafood Grill to host their wedding celebration, and it was absolutely the right choice. They were looking for a venue with a city vibe, great food, and a space where they could truly celebrate and dance with friends—and Roland’s exceeded every expectation.
We went with the Platinum Buffet Package, and the food was nothing short of incredible. We had the caprese salad, stuffed chicken New England, grilled Delmonico, seafood Norfolk, rice pilaf, grilled vegetables, and their famous lobster roll sliders. Every dish was a hit. The Delmonico was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife, the seafood Norfolk was to die for, and the lobster sliders were a fan favorite—our guests are still raving about the food. It was far beyond what you’d expect at a typical wedding celebration.
The staff was amazing—easy to work with, flexible, and always accommodating. We were even able to access the venue the day before to set up our décor, which made a big difference. They provided table linens and had everything arranged based on our guest count, which helped make what can be a stressful time feel smooth and easy.
We rented the Ohio Room, which includes the entire top floor and balcony. The weather was perfect, so we were able to enjoy the outdoor space as well. Whether you wanted to dance, relax on the balcony, or catch up with friends, the layout made it all possible.
Special thanks to Justin, who guided us every step of the way and made sure everything went off without a hitch, and to Shae, who was outstanding both during our setup and throughout the event—she really connected with our guests and made everyone feel welcome.
I can’t recommend Roland’s Seafood Grill enough for your next event. They totally exceeded our expectations, and we’re so grateful we chose them for our daughter’s...
