The Water Steps lead to the Korean War Veterans Memorial on Pittsburgh's North Shore, located between PNC Park and Heinz Field. Situated in close proximity are the WWII and Vietnam Memorials and not too far from the WWII Memorial-Pgh you also find a Memorial for City of Pittsburgh/ Allegheny County fallen Police Officers. The location of all of the above mentioned locales affords areas suitable for contemplation and reflection upon the sacrifices made by those in both military and municipality uniforms. During the Summer months, the steps serve as a perimeter on both sides of a cascading waterfall leading down towards the Historic North Shore of Pittsburgh, affording beautiful views of the city skyline and river traffic upon Pittsburgh's Three Rivers along with sights that include the three sister bridges.Put this on your itinerary if you plan on visiting Pittsburgh: It's a must see and a great way to get to know real Pittsburgh, post "Smokey City" and now reminiscent of many International...
Read moreI love the water steps! They are a wonderful reprieve from the heat, and let me tell you, north shore gets toasty in summer. My doggie and I love to walk in this fountain to freshen up a bit. During the weekend it gets pretty busy with kids playing and splashing but if you go early enough or during the week it's usually empty. The view of the city is one of my favorites from here making this spot perfect for pictures! All around there are restaurants and breweries, the casino, the science museum, and the stadiums making the area quite entertaining. From North Shore you can walk downtown to the Point Park by crossing the bridge, it's a simple 10 minutes walk. Parking is usually pretty good (pay parking) but you can't park there during any event at the stadiums. The science Museum, the casino, and the stadiums have theirs...

I'm only putting 4 stars because there is no public restroom within a couple blocks of here, so it makes it quite hard with children, which are the...
