Part of the Pittsburgh Regional Transit light rail system, North Side serves the North Shore neighborhood and is within walking distance to PNC Park, the Warhol Museum, the National Aviary and the Allegheny Center. It's located not very heavily used by commuters but there are some.
The station serves all three lines - the Red, Blue and Silver - between Allegheny Station (inbound) and Gateway Station (outbound) towards either South Hills Village or Library depending on which line. It is an underground station with escalators and elevators. The station is handicapped accessible.
As an underground station, it is protected from the elements. An island platform with two tracks, it is at the end of the Allegheny River Tunnel which is quite cool.
