Mr. Tunes — Local services in Pittsfield Charter Township

The guy attending was very rude because I showed up late to the appointment. I asked him if they could still put the alarm. His answer was that he was going to take several hours to put the alarm and couldn't get the work finished the same day. This was an alarm that I had installed previously (here as well) just in another car and it just took like an hour. Plus they were saying that because " the several hours" to install this system, the labor was going to be around $400. With all due respect this is a joke. When I bought this alarm it cost me $1000 (including installation). It's hard to believe that they are trying to charge me 400 just for reinstall the same system but in a different car. Very disappointed experience 12/14: Regarding your reply:

1. I arrive late, as I explained before. And you said that you need me to leave the car the whole weekend if I wanted the alarm installed. After you explained why it would take so long I told you that I just wanted the ON-OFF switch installed if that would take less time. Again, last time you put the ON-OFF switch, tilt sensors, shock sensors and battery in 1hour.

2. you didn't have to remove anything from a car. I showed up with the alarm already uninstalled. Again, my final request was to put the ON-OFF switch which to me, the $400 that you were asking for seemed unreasonable. You can argue that previously installation was included, but $400 just to install an ON-OFF switch? and that would take you 6 hours? Your answer was that it was going to take you many hours because the alarm was already wired and you have to re-cut wires. The car I wanted to get the alarm installed was an smaller car compared to the one I brought before. You can argue that it doesn't matter, but the fact that you were just bringing more arguments to say it was going to take you long hours without even checking my request makes me think you didn't want to do anything at all. Great customer service!

Had new speakers installed in my 2009 Toyota Prius to replace the stock speakers that had died, as well as a new radio and a remote starter. A couple days later I noticed the speakers would get quiet as I drove, and my remote start would intermittently flicker the lights on my dash. Mr. Tunes was very diligent in trying to diagnose the issues.

Eventually the remote start on my car informed me the battery was low and a visit to O'Reilley Auto confirmed my regular battery was bad (not surprising considering its age; and it was still reading as okay when they tested it for the equipment install). I had the battery replaced only to continue to have a low battery read on my remote start. I bought the car into Mr. Tunes and they did a full diagnostic of the car to discover the auto shop that installed the new battery did not charge it and it was on 38%.

The guys at Mr. Tunes let me camp out in their waiting room, watching TV and working on my laptop until they had the battery fully charged. The uncharged battery was no doing on their own, yet they charged it up for me at no cost. These guys care about customer satisfaction and it shows. It’s now been two months since my install so I have had enough time to evaluate my system and provide an honest review.

In the mid-90s through the early 2000’s I had several custom systems installed in my vehicles by a different company, however, when I wanted to revisit my younger years and have a custom system installed in my current vehicle, the business that did all my previous installs no longer builds custom enclosures. In addition, when they specked out a system on paper, they did not include a DSP or address tuning the system at all; therefore, I started my search for a reputable and competent car stereo shop that would install the type of system that would meet my high expectations.

In the end, I found Mr. Tunes of Ann Arbor and they not only met but exceeded my expectations when it came to a custom install! They offered a great product line and demonstrated outstanding customer service! I was kept informed and allowed to share in the excitement of my custom install by receiving pictures of the progress throughout the entire process.
