Firehouse Subs Plainfield Plaza — Restaurant in Plainfield

My first visit to a Firehouse Sub shop. The sandwich was excellent. They delivered it to our table fairly quickly. The clerk was rather abrupt, and I would not characterize as friendly. She didn't seem happy to be at her job. She took our orders efficiently enough, but asked each of us if we wanted drinks and chips or just drinks. We both responded just drinks. She gave us different size cups, and of course, charged us appropriately. Be prepared, they will ask if you want to "Round up for public safety. " which means rounding your bill up to the next whole dollar as a donation, but they never tell you who actually gets the money from that donation. That was a bit irritating. I'll probably try Firehouse again, but I'll be specific about my drink size, and if asked to donate, I'll ask which organization will get...

AVOID. kelsey lied and said shes the mgr.. only when l insisted and asked for the real, gen, store, mgr, did she tell me she wasnt. so unprofessional . stated in front of other customers AND employees alike, that I was "stealing" bc l put ice in my cup.. she also wouldn't listen nor go look at her cameras to see the machine dripped orange stuff in my cup, so l dumped my soda out and re-filled it (with mostly ice).. she lost a $45 order bc of it, and has NO BUSINESS being at the counter.. kelsey is not managerial material at all.. as l was leaving, she refused to giv the mgr my business card l left for that expressed purpose. refused to giv me the locations phone #. abd refused to giv me the store number.. l came here bc the subs are decent, but this little girl was egregiously heinous and prejudicial...

I have yet to have a truly bad experience here. I can not give a full 5 stars (but would give a 4.5) because I do find the " hot" sandwiches are not warm enough. I also find the bread sometimes will be dry on the ends. But, and this is a big "BUT" this time, it is still very good and doesn't happen every time! I believe Firehouse Subs is one of the best sub shops hands down. It cost a little more than some other sub shops but the quality and quantity of the meat is so much better. They have fresh toppings to pick from. They offer call in orders or order on the app and are usually ready within 5 to 10 minutes for pickup. I like that because I call it in and by the time I drive there my order is ready....
